I told you sir, that Missouri was not that good of a team 2 months ago when we had our "Healthy" Debate, I told you that besides their conference schedule their out of conference schedule SUCKED and that they had toooo many close calls with average teams, beating Villanova only by 10, Old Dominon by 7 etc, giving me concern and possibly getting eliminated early.

I just want my credit for being right my guy, even tho last night you said you didn’t think they could win it all and you see them getting eliminated sooner than later, I said they could be the biggest team to get upsetted and that’s what happened tonight!

I said all this 2 months ago and Dale knows I did.

Wait, wasn’t Dale the one who kept saying Mizzou was a phony team without any size or depth, and I haven’t seen his bracket, but I belive he has Florida over Missouri.

First it is incredibly dueshy to do something liek that. Second are you really going to count something said two months ago? Obviously things change INCREDIBLY in two months in the NCAA. It only lasts for like 4 for christ sakes. That was at the start of conference play. I would have told you UConn was my #2 team 2 months ago Jesus Christ. Seems like his opinion on Missouri changed since then as has everyones opinion about everything. Its two months man..

Oh, is this the "I told you so topic"?

Hey JNixon, two-and-a-half years ago you we had an argument about whether Ronnie Brewer would ever learn how to shoot. I was wrong.

I also didn’t think much of Stephen Curry or Paul George before they were drafted. I was sure Utah was going to draft a big in 2010. Would have taken Barnes over Irving last season. Thought Wesley Johnson was going to be an 18-point per game scorer and Jimmer would fit well with Tyreke Evans.

I’ve been wrong about a lot of stuff. Fortunately, none of the people I’ve argued with over the years has created a topic trying to humiliate me.

Come on now everyone, let’s have a sense of humour here. This is a sports fanatic internet forum right? I got the impression from following this place that there were a lot of sincere friendships, as well as some healthy rivalries, maybe even sprinkle in some funny nemesis. Isn’t that part of the deal here?

If you can’t rub your buddy’s nose in it/ make your opposition eat some good ol’ crow pie, then what’s the fun in that? I for one will take seconds and encourage thirds as long as it stays within the boundaries of good fun.

In fact this reminded me instantly of playing in a fantasy football league years ago, and I offered a good friend of mine Adrian Peterson for Carson Palmer straight up. It was AP’s rookie year before training camp. I needed a quarterback bad, but knew Peterson would be something. My friend laughed at me, and then even took offense to the trade, going on to say I must think he was pretty stupid if I thought he’d accept it. Months later he didn’t even try to bring it up, because there was no way anyone would trade AP at that point.

Anytime we talk fantasy football or mention either of those players, I still make fun of him and laugh at him, and all our buddies razz him too, it’s hilarious!

Having grudges, beefs, rivalries, disagreements etc. ..this is what makes a message board like this.

I’m just saying this is a sports forum like people taking it all out of context like im talking about the man’s momma or sumthin lol

We just had a really good debate a while back and I stated some things that were very accurate, and they came true today thats all lol but whatever I see people shedding tears over this forum hahaha

Fair enough. I didn’t witness the debate you two had, so I really don’t understand the context, or have an opinion on the matter. It would also be hypocritical for me to pretend that I haven’t gloated about being right about something before.

The mocking tone of the topic (or at least the title), made you come off as immature. At least, I assume that’s why you received a negative reaction.

The landscape wasn’t any different for Mizzou tho.

They didn’t lose any players, still had a high ranking, won the BIG12, and got a high number seed.

Wasn’t nothin like your UCONN team, who started off hot then went in the totally oppostie direction.

As I said before, "Second are you really going to count something said two months ago? Obviously things change INCREDIBLY in two months in the NCAA. It only lasts for like 4 for christ sakes. That was at the start of conference play. I would have told you UConn was my #2 team 2 months ago Jesus Christ. This is the NCAA. Not the NBA or NFL where you kind of know where teams stand midway through the season even the beginning. This is a league where it is usually a completely new team every year. All I am saying is you didn’t really prove him wrong if he said something two months ago when the landscape was vastly different.

Like you said before, "even tho last night you said you didn’t think they could win it all and you see them getting eliminated sooner than later, I said they could be the biggest team to get upsetted and that’s what happened tonight!

I said all this 2 months ago and Dale knows I did."

You said it yourself. It looks like his mind changed in the last two months because he said he doesn’t see Missouri going far now. If he was to say that Missouri was going far RIGHT BEFORE THE TOURNEY INSTEAD OF 2 MONTHS AGO and picked them to go far and you said they weren’t and picked them not to far, then you’d have a point. But he didn’t.

I see your point, its not really one of those rub in your face predictions because your argument was two months ago. NCAA changes more than pro sports in two months. It seemed like his opinion changed a bit since then. I guess what I am saying is that, yes you were definitley right and the fact that it was 2 months ago only makes it a greater prediction on your part, I’m just not so sure he was definitley completely wrong because it was two months on his part.

Lol but thats the whole point, i’m not tryna rub it in his face, it was more so everything I said came exactly true and became true because of the points I gave and he didn’t want to agree with me then.

This topic was more of me just hitting the nail exactly on the head than calling Dale out.

What’s wrong with a little trash talking?  I for one think it intensifies what you say on this forum.  Isn’t that what sports is all about?  The ability to say you were better than an opponent in a certain way?  Isn’t that why humanity, for thousands of years, has played or watched sports?  To find out who had the upper-hand at a certain time?  Isn’t that why goalies become goalies, to have the ability to say, I’m better than you?  Isn’t that what Dikembe Mutombo built his career around?  His ability to say, you’re wrong for trying?  Isn’t that what has made Ray Lewis an icon?  His ability to stuff and send back whatever is thrown his way?

What’s the point of talking sports if you can’t have fun with it?  Seriously?  When did this NBA forum turn into a retirement home where nobody says a word because they’ll sh!t their pants?  When did this become communist North Korea?  Where anything you say with negativity, you’re left in the ocean without fingerprints.

What is sports without a bit of trash talking?  There’s trash talking and bragging rights in every debate that has taken place, and that’s the beauty of sports.  Two opponents are pit together to prove which has the upper-hand.

So stop it with this non-sense where you say someone is being ridiculous because he’s talking a bit of trash.  This isn’t the fairyland where one still thinks the cat never caught his tweety-bird.

Not here.  Not on a SPORTS forum.

YoungDave, there is nothing wrong with saying "FU, In your face, lol", and in all good spirit is is what this site is about, but the problem is that the way you posted came off as cocky and arrogant, had you posted somthing like this………….

"I told yall Mizzou was going to go down, they had no size no depth, and didn’t come up in big moments, how you feeling now Dale, lol. It’s all good though."

And then post a link to the thread where it all happened. There was nothing wrong with your idea behind the post, just deliver it in a different way.
