They traded for to players with knee injuries. Nate had been limping around while playing with the C’s for months now. Perk is coming off knee surgery and had just injured the other knee. Jeff Green is looking real good tonight and Nenad has looked good with the Celtics pass first mentality since day 1.

Did The Thunder get suckered here or does Perk come back and it cancels out?

I don’t think the Nate injury is a big deal. I never thought there was enough room in the rotation for him anyway.

Perk just has a sprained MCL. That’s not really a serious injury.

They got Perkins on a nice deal if you compare deals guys like Brendan Haywood just got. Also it’s very unlikely they would have kept Green long term. They probably weren’t willing to pay Jeff what he wanted since they have to extend Westbrook and also have Durant coming up. Plus they have to look at extending guys like Ibaka, Harden, and Maynor. I just couldn’t see them giving Jeff Green that contract starting at 8 mil a year, especially considering he’s a natural 3 who was playing an undersized 4.

They get the legit defensive center that they needed, a good scorer off the bench for a decent bench center and good small forward who had no room to play on the team except out of position, so that sounds like a win

I think a big part of this was Ibaka… They had lots of confidence in his ability to be a All-Star type player and Green was in the way… Now, they could have used him like Al Horford and played him out of position but they wanted to do things right… They got a legit, defensive center so that Ibaka doesnt have to take that role alone.. Now, he can work on playing offense while giving great weak side help on D while Perk defends on the best post player Man-to-Man.. Also, Perk is the key to a championship.. Watch the Celtics get in trouble come playoff time because Shaq is fat and Krstic is weak…

This trade wont show much ATM but in a year or 2, it will have really paid off..
