joe2324Participantdamn, they miss Westbrook LIKE REAL BAD. I know Russell is a star, but nobody else is even close to stepping up to replace even a 1/5th of his energy and productivity. Perkins is a waste and Sefolosha is only there for defensive purposes. Other than Durant, this team is hurting offensively. Reggie Jackson is good, but too young and not experienced enough. Damn shame westbrook got hurt, this team will win this series but they are not getting past the 2nd round.

Leonard WashingtonParticipantyea Delfino just dunked on Durant too.. They may be in trouble next round unless a consistent 3rd option shows up.

Wavy BagelsParticipantShoutout to Aaron Brooks. I remember he used to be the guy in Houston when they took the Lakers to 7 games in 2009 and averaged almost 20 ppg in 2010 and winning MIP in the process. But after he got injured, he went downhill and wound up back in Houston after not playing well in SacTown. Great to see him getting some shine.

avavalisParticipantWhat a shitty officiated 4th quarter. For both sides.

Chilbert arenasParticipantI like Jackson but to me he’s just a taller Bledsoe. Freak athlete with great wingspan and as strong as an ox but not a true point guard and really struggles with his outside shot. Either of them seem like they could have been as successful in football as they are in basketball. They need another player to step up who can create their own shot and I don’t know who that is on this roster, maybe get Ibaka working in the post a little more.

RickyRubio9ParticipantReggie Jackson took more shots than KD………. I think this series shows how valuable Russell is.

NickWayne87Participantwhy doesn’t kd take more shots? plus he was on tonight

fcb206ParticipantThey’re sure missing James Harden NOW. Maybe in the regular season you can replace a dollar with four quarters, but under unforseen circumstances like the Westbrook injury, it would be a godsend to have another star quality player ready to take on a bigger role.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantDown 1-3 this series but a dirty play / missed call on Perkins in game 2 could have given us that win. Also, if it wasn’t for that Durant 3 in game 3 that bounced around the entire rim, we would have won that game as well. That’s two plays and the series could have been 3-1, Rockets.
Even with Westbrook, this Thunder team has escaped by simple bounces of the ball.
That said, this Thunder team isn’t as invincible as it seems to be, even with Westbrook in the first two games. Boy, the 2nd round is going to be GOOD

FastAndFuriousParticipantNah bruh with Westbrook they woulda swept the Rockets, and was the most feared team in the West, despite them looking a little flawed early I think they still was the favorite for the NBA Finals coming out of the West.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantWestbrook played games 2 & 3. Meaning your argument is invalid.
Point is, OKC isn’t as unstoppable as they seemed to be, even with Westbrook. As easily as the Thunder could have swept the Rockets, we could be holding a 3-1 lead against them. Simple bounces of the ball turned the series.
Now, I don’t think the West is as crystal clear as it was before the playoffs. A lot of people had OKC as shoe-ins for a spot in the WCF. With their struggles against the Rockets and the loss of Westbrook, could OKC be eliminated in the 2nd round?
All of this proves is that the WC is stacked with talent. From the 1-8 (except the Lakers), any team could have come out.

lalailaParticipantI love KD but people already saying he won’t get past second-round and this team with Ibaka,Martin, Thabo is still probably better than Cavs were on any year with LeBron

jdmckibbinParticipantThe more and more I watch this series, KD is what he is because of Westbrook. KD doesn’t seem comfortable taking every shot– and I know he says he wants to be that guy but IMO they lose all transition game without Westbrook.. Reggie Jackson is good, but not there yet. I still want to see a full series where KD is the completely option for scoring.. and also in game 4 it seemed like no one other than Jackson and Derek Fisher stepped up at all.

joe2324ParticipantWestbrook is the heart and sout of this team and now KD has to take on a different role which he is not used too. Can he be that guy? Who knows, but you can clearly see what a superstar westbrook is and in his absence, they cannot pick up the pieces. I’m sorry, but Reggie Jackson will NEVER be that guy. Nobody on this team can replace russell. Hopefully, he comes back strong in the fall.
