LitteringAnd…ParticipantSeriously how can it be this bad. This is a top-level professional league in which the refs are right next to the play and yet they’re decisions are alover the place! This is coming from a Miami fan but Waiters was fouled there.
How can Lebron get free-throws at one end for a slap on the arm (fair enough it was a foul), then Waiters gets body slammed by Haslem at the other end an nothing doing?? the commentators the crowd, everyone in the arena new it was afoul I just don’t get it.
I watch a lot of different sports and the NBA has by far the worst standard of officiating and it’s frustrating to watch even when it favors your team.

Hector_Reyes_8ParticipantIt’s hard to win a game when it’s 8 on 5 for any team playing Miami…. Or are there more than 3 refs? Whatever. This is a prime example of why the Heat are disliked by mostly everyone but their bandwagon fans and why people don’t watch the NBA as much as before.

Land of GrantParticipantPeople in general just need to get off Lebron/equivalent superstars’ dicks… ESPN, refs, commercials, 2K

TenSecondTomParticipantI was at the Phoenix Suns / BK Nets game the other night and although my Suns played terribly, every time they sparked a rally the ref would give Dragic a weak foul. It seemed as though they were targeting him because he had at least 2 maybe 3 of his 5 fouls that were highly arbitrary. He had to sit out almost a whole quarter’s worth of game because of it. I think people don’t realize in LeBron’s situation that the guy is literally a tank so when he get exposed to the contact that a normal player would it doesn’t even look like anything, yet other players would be on the floor; the same thing happens to Dwight. But I am definitely in agreement that the refs "rig" the calls in favor of certain teams in certain situations.

CavsFan07ParticipantThe no call involving Waiters at the end was definitely ridiculous. There was a ref perfectly in position to make the call and didn’t.

ChewyParticipantwas a produce of David Stern. He pushed officials to ref this way (clearly unequal calls based on your "star status") because he saw how much money Larry, Magic and Mike bring in. It has nothing to do with basketball and everything to do with entertainment. Unequal calls by refs has been a black mark on the NBA for a few decades now.
Maybe Silver is different? He clearly has no problem making changes. He has made a few already and has mentioned a few more. If he sees a need to focus on equal call making, I can see him having the guts to force refs to not make "superstar" calls.
Not really the refs fault, IMO. They call it the way they are instructed to call it. I wouldn’t be suprised if refs get in trouble when superstars foul out…
