Last year as a junior he was averaging like 18 a game shooting 43% from 3 and had like 39 on Indiana and 22 on Butler in the Sweet 16 people were talking about him moving up a lot in mocks. But all I know is that he had a REALLY dissapointing season this year.

LOL Wroten can’t shoot a lick

Teague has a weird shot and kind of kicks his legs out, kind of like he’s stopping himself from jumping higher, and has a slow release. Not a fan of his game, but he has a great frame for a PG.

Marshall’s shot didn’t look good at all in the spot-up 3 drill. Has a low release that comes from his chin, and doesn’t get much lift on his shot.

I’m about 15 minutes behind on my TV, but up to where I am Tony Wroten has looked terrible. Nearly air-balled a wide-open mid-range jumper in the first drill, followed by a missed layup in the next drill, then he struggled in the two shootig drills. Then he looses the dribble and throws up a wild shot in the defense drill. I was hopin for a lot more than this for Wroten.

I think he’s gambling/scared right now. He might know that guys like Terrence Ross, Austin Rivers, and Dion Waiters are better than he is and he doesn’t want to be compared with them. Right now he’s ranked ahead of those guys on most big boards and doesn’t want to slip down further so he’s keeping his potential and college body of work as his selling point. I agree with JoeWolf though, these drills should be perfect for Lamb. For the record I think all players should have to do these drills as a draft requirement but I understand why some don’t.

I like Doron Lamb better than Jenkins.  Better defensively, superior mid range game, better athleticism, better ball handling ability.  Jenkins may be the more dynamic college scorer, but I think Lamb’s game tranlates well to the NBA.  He seems like an excellent NBA role player.  Players who are elite spot-up shooters who can defend and competently fill other offenseive needs can find homes in the NBA.

 So far I have been impressed by Doron Lamb, who looks quite quick.  Darius Johnson-Odom, on the other hand, looks a little bit slow.  Just doesn’t look as athletic as the other guys in there.  Couldn’t get to the rim well in the 1 on 1 drills.  Don’t want to read to much into the combine, though, as it really doesn’t give a great read of the prospects just watching it.  I’d guess the interviews are at least as important as the drills.

I think Crowder will be just fine at the 3 at the next level. He certainly will rebound nicely out of that position. And he is good strong defender. Yeah, he will be short but he produces. Teams are idiots if they sleep on him.

Yeah, I agree that DJO seems pretty cool.  I always root for Marquette players to make it in the NBA, as they all seem to play hard and just know how to play basketball.

Moe Harkless is looking good.  Shooting well in the pull-up drills and in the spot up shooting drill.  If he can develop a consistent outside shot, he could really help himself.

I love Jeff Taylor’s athletic ability.  You can tell by the way he moves he could explode at any time.  He’s not the most refinded guy offensively, but I think he makes a lot of sense to OKC in the late 1st round since they may not be able to bring back Thabo.

Taylor could be a really great NBA defender, and he’s not nearly as one dimensional as Thabo.

I think Terrence Jones is a poor man’s Lebron at best, and he could be a Jamal Mashburn / Larry Johnson type too, he’s got some great tools and he can get a lot better with NBA coaching, he’s one of the most NBA ready from a physical stand point and I see no reason why a lottery team wouldn’t pick him

Its funny both T Jones and R White are considered 4/3 or 3/4s but they are the most physical of the 4s working out at the combine. I havent been high on either but just seeming there size compared to P3, D Green and Nicholson has me changing my mind a bit. Both will definet 4s not 3s in the nba.

 I have addressed this before, but I just hate how all these guys sit out the first day of drills and come on the 2nd day.  The problem I have with it is I know the guys want to play, its the fricken agents that sit them out, but then they are still on deck for interviews…and they are NEVER prepared to give a solid answer as to why they arent out there!  I mean come on!  If the agent is so smart to make you sit out at least he can have a solid statement pre-written for you when you know thats the first question they will ask.  Instead, they are making excuses as to why their agents put them into that position.  Jeremy Lamb didnt even know what to say.   I remember John Wall was the same way.

 well, it is their agents.  these guys really want to play.  when I was younger and played in high school, I just couldnt wait to get on the floor and play…during try-outs, practice, etc…  I just wanted to play because I loved to play but also, I wanted to show what I could do, especially if it was prove people wrong.  I dont believe that any of these guys didnt want to be out there.  I really have a problem with showing up for half of the combine.  Brad Beal said he didnt participate because he didnt want to risk anything but will be ready tomorrow.  If you dont want to risk anything, why show up at all?  I say either you do both days or dont do any if you feel it is any sort of risk.

According to calculation from pic Barnes vertical was like 43 inches(24+19). Thats pretty impressive for a guy the big claim he wasn’t athletic enough to get to basket. The standing vertical is a measurement of explosivness is it not?

I’m sure that Barnes didn’t put up a 43 inch STANDING vertical. Nobody jumps that high from a standing position. If Barnes did that with running jump it would be amazing but at least not unheard of.

 that Sean Elliott comparison has been on this board for MONTHS! not just a couple of weeks ago.  People were saying that here in Feb or March.

I absolutely was not joking.  Why is it unfathomable to think that they dont use all sources, resources, and pay attention to other assessments and opinions?  They get paid the big bucks to do this, trust me….they read this site and others like it.

note:  there was a boxing website that was in its infancy at the time, but came on the scene breaking a lot of stories.  there was also several other websites that have very credible, source info.   I know this from boxing….Dan Rafael and ESPN dont know chit.  They just have the brand and the viewers/readers.  Anyway, duing HBO boxing programming, Jim Lampley for one used to "break" stories or provide info without citing the source…as if they were the source.  Well, that one website repeatedly blasted HBO about using their info and not citing them as a source.  Shortly after it became a big deal on the web, HBO started citing their website and others as sources.

Not the same as the Sean Elliott comparison, but believe me…..more people read this site and obtain information from it that we realize.   A lot of pertinent information comes from little guys like us and little sites like this.

It’s a nice notion to think that NBA draft analysts are reading the forum, but I find it much more likely that they talk to scouts and GMs across the league. I doubt they’re spending time wading through all the check out my mock threads to find the occassional useful piece of information.

 not really saying they spend all their time here, but they have sons, friends, etc…that I guarantee read this forum.  also you have friends of Barnes and other prospects that read this forum, when in their circles….chatter like this comes out.

trust me, Sean Elliott isnt a comparison that you pull out, even if you watched Elliott and Barnes play, which I did, and I see the similarities.  I can say with confidence, that comparison made its way from the posts of this forum onto Chad Ford or whoever’s scouting report, be it directly or indirectly.

Speaking of scouts, I know they have this site bookmarked.  Part of scouting isnt just how good a player plays, but how it is perceived their reception from the fans will be.  In the technology and social media age now, one would be a fool not to reach out to other mediums and still expect to be ahead of the pack in terms of information.

Some scouts compared Barnes to Sean before anyone on here posted it. I’m pretty sure they didn’t get the idea from here. They are close in height and their games are not exact but similar in some ways so the comparisons were bound to come just like people who compare Perry Jones to Randolph,Odom etc

 Ford Tweeted that Thomas Robinson had a 35.5” max vert and that Damian Lillard had a 36” standing and a 40” max vert.

Those are the only two I’ve heard that leaked.
