now he signed for $4 Million

I hope he fired that agent (if the agent told him to turn down that 4 year deal)

Noel would be a decent fit in Boston b/c they are desperate for interior defense but I don’t believe Noel gives you much – he’s very over rated as a defender

But he’s originally from the Boston, Mass area & he would be an upgrade from what Boston has already

I actually think Noel is a underrated player. His PER36 last year was 15pts 10rebs and 2 blks. While shooting 60% from the floor and nearly 70% from the line. And he fits into any team/system.

He just signed with LeBron’s agent. I’m sure he’ll get more that 17m/yr next year as an UFA.

The agent (Happy Walters) said he advised Noel to take the deal, Noel said to ask for max. Then the Mavs took the deal off the table. Noel later fired the agent and signed with Rich Paul before accepting the one-year QO

4 years/68 million sounds a lot better than 4 million and No guarantee you’ll get that 68 million next year

I feel bad that Noel hasn’t found a Team that appreciates what he brings to the table, I was on the fence about trading him because I thought he was the perfect Backup C and an amazing Pick and Roll defender, he’s under rated as a passer

He would fit in well in Boston but will have they even enough money to sign him to a 4 year contract worth more than the 68 he turned down in Dallas? They’ll have Irving/Gordon/Horford eating up cap and they’d have to extend Smart and save money for a Kyrie extension, then there’s the Brown and Tatum duo to figure into the Cap going forward, and Danny wants to add a player in Free Agency…It’s looking like Noel wouldn’t get the offer he got from Dallas if he does want to play in Boston

For a player who has had a lot of injury issues during his career, I would have thought a 4 year guaranteed deal would have been a great offer. It would have given him a huge amount of lifetime security which this one year deal won’t.

Next year’s draft looks big men heavy then you have a number of gooid frontcourt FA’s who have a better resume than Noel.

Sure a contender may look at him but it would be as a role player and not someone they would throw huge money at.

Too many injuries in his short career to turn down that massive deal for a one year 4mill deal.

He’s hired Lebron’s agent now, no way Boston can afford him.

Does taking a one year deal mean he has an effective no trade clause in his deal, there is something along these lines which was mentioned when Greg Monroe did similar deal with Detroit a few years back.

If Noel is trade eligible then I could see a lot of play off teams offering Dallas something if they need frontcourt depth for next season’s run in.

$64 Mil is alot of money! He better hope he gets minutes and stays healthy. Its a risky decision on one hand his minutes, production and games played has all declined since his rookie year where he played 75 games and averaged 30 mpg. On the other his per minute productivity has gotten better each season and Philly didnt really give him a fair oppurtunity to shine with thier methods of tanking by drafting multiple prospects in his position and just straight benching him at times for unknown reasons. One injury can ruin his life here, I wouldve taken the offer or tried to settle for a shorter contract like 2 years $30 Mil.

KCP was allowed to move on and only took a one year deal but he got $17 million payday and is a very durable player unlike Noel so he has far more bases covered.

Noel certainly needs to have a solid 70 plus game season in 2017-18 to get his stock up again.

The silver lining for noel here in what otherwise looks like a horrendous miscalculation of the market is that he’s likely to be in a situation where he will get ample playing time next season. He should get a chance to prove himself that he’s worthy of a big deal next summer.

He’ll certainly have something to play for and hopefully Rick Carlisle can het the best out of him. Also having Dirk alongside him should help his offensive game too.
