basedSERBParticipantthose anybody else think they will win the championship next year? They got the #2 point guard recruit in the nation in brandon knight. who, from what ive seen is very good at ball handling and reminds me a lot of john wall but with less athleticism and a better shot. the #6 shooting guard recruit in doron lamb, havent got to seem him play at all but if hes #6 in the nation hes gotta be decent. the #2 sf in the nation with terrence jones. and the #3 center with enes kanter, who scored 34 points in that usa vs. world game(highest ever, beat dirks record). i would have thought they would have won for sure if daniel orton and bledsoe stayed, they are selling themselves short, they could have been lottery picks next year

delfamParticipantdon’t forget Stacey Poole and Eloy Vargas who are also amazing recruits.

basedSERBParticipantive heard of stacey poole but i dont think he will play much since they already got doron lamb and tons of back up guards and ive never heard of eloy vargas

delfamParticipantPoole is ranked #33 overall and can play the 3 behind Miller, Vargas is a center who is a JUCO, but he is still a 4 star and did play for Florida.

delfamParticipantJones can play a little PF if Kentucky goes small.

morgatilParticipantVargas was Florida’s prized recruit in 2008. He was once ranked a top 10 guy out of HS, but his final ranking befpre college was #24 and a 4 star prospect. He is in the Marcus Camby mold and played his first year ball at Florida and was hindered by an injury his whole freshman year. He should be a force on the boards with and as Kanter’s back up.
UK should be more well rounded to win it all this year. The 3-35 from 3 will not happen again with this recruiting class.

the I in winParticipantTerrence Jones has way to much skill and length to not start and play a lot of minutes for Kentucky next year. By the end of the year he may be considered better than Knight but probably not Kanter.

basedSERBParticipantenes kanter is a freaking monster, i believe he will do better in college than cousins did. kanter and knight should for the draft next year, terrence jones the year after that, and doron lamb should go his junior year IMO

delfamParticipantWhat’s people’s thoughts on their starting lineup, from the look of it it looks like it’s all freshmen, but I can’t see that happening.
PG: Knight
SG: Lamb
SF: Jones
PF: Kanter
C: VargasI could see Miller or Dodson starting over Lamb

stanford hoopsi think miller starts but i wouldnt be suprised if they go with what you have delfam. this could be a better more balanced team then last year because each player does something different. knight is a good scorer but can also handle the ball and find the open man
lamb’s midrange game is on the pro level and his deep ball isnt that bad but does need work
jone can do it all ala lamar odom and he’s 6’9 long and athletic
kanter is a beast with a nice euro game but can also bang
vargas used to be very good in hs. saw him in vegas. not real athletic but long and pretty fluidKentucky also has a pretty nice bench. if they play as a team and not think about where they will be drafted this group could be very good

the I in winParticipantdon’t forget the next class that will bring in Michael Gilchrist and Marquis Teague.

stanford hoopsthat next class and the team 2 years from now will be interesting. they will probably return poole and lamb . im guessing jones, knight, and katner are gone but wouldnt be suprised if katner stays since he could have gone after his performance int he world game. and im sure kentucky will get one more allamerican, most likely a big

HaleParticipantAt the end of the season I believe Terrence Jones will be the highest or second highest pick, after Kanter if it’s the latter.

morgatilParticipantIf the lock out happens, we are possibly looking at the most talented college basketball team in NCAA history.
Go ahead, start with the negative points, but…..
Gilchrist 5 star
Teague 5 star
Kanter 5 star
Knight 5 star
Jones 5 star
Lamb 5/4 star depending on the site
Poole 4 star
Vargas 4 starLiggins 5 star
Miller 4 star
Hood 4 star
Dodson 4 starNot to mention the rumors of Quincy Miller #3 in 2011 and Tony Wroten Jr #8 in 2011 wanting it be at UK.

AllDayyyParticipantyeah but knight, kanter, jones, and even lamb (at least in his mind) are very possible 1 and dones. Vargas could even be a one and done, in the sense that he only plays 1 year at Kentucky. Theres no way they can possibly have that team, Kanter will leave for sure. But I agree I think Miller and Wroten will end up at UK, depending on how the Bledsoe situation shakes out.

morgatilParticipantpg knight / Liggins
sg lamb / poole / hood
sf miller / dodson
pf jones / harrelson
c kanter / vargaseveryone says that Jones wants to play the 3 in college, but I think Cal convinced him that the 4 in the DDM is like another wing. They have line up options and will be loaded.

morgatilParticipantI said if the lock out happens…. meaning that all ncaa players either stay in school or play pro over seas.
If there is a lock out, there is no NBA Draft.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/01/2010 - 3:38pm #325064
kaceyParticipantI believe you are wrong. The lockout will not affect the status of the NBA draft. The draft is always in late June, the lockout wouldn’t start until July 1, which is when the current deal expires. The draft will go on as always.
It is very unlikely that there will be any effect on players entering the draft. The ’98 lockout talks didn’t keep Jamison, Carter, and Bibby from entering. Also, it is very unlikely the NBA would have a complete season shutdown like the NHL did a few years back. Unless the new deal completely restructures the way rookies are paid, the rookies that get drafted will get their full salary, assuming the NBA has some type of a season.
I highly doubt there will be a lockout, if there is a lockout, I highly doubt the lockout will last the entire season.

McWinningParticipantKentuckys gonna be a good team, Vargas is gonna be a big time player, hew was the second best player in Juco last year.
I think their another elite eight team.

Mr.BigShotParticipantAll Stars don’t make a good team you need a Superstar(Kobe, Rondo) and another Star(Gasol- Garnett
