STATnMeloParticipantThey feel like they have to make a move for Carmelo right away but honestly they shouldnt be in a rush because he is basically committed to NYC for the 2011-2012 season.
A move I would make is getting a 2 Guard behind Fields since Azubuike wont be back and Mason doesnt play much. Douglas will be the back up PG next year as D’Antoni molds him into the PG he needs.
Randolph and Turiaf should be able to bang, block shots and rebound if they can get 18 rebound and 4 blocks a peice per game New York’s inside problems would be solved.
Chandler is a great 4th maybe even 5th option for this team he can go 2-3-4 and knocks down 3’s and is a solid perimeter defender.
Gallinari is knock down shooter and would score his 15 off the bench backing up Melo.
JR Smith should be D’Antoni’s back up SG why? because they both love offense, they both dont think about defense and JR wouldnt mind following his boy Carmelo
Anthony, Stoudemire, Felton is a great core they compliment eachother so well Melo should average 30 on this team, STAT should be at 25 and Felton is easily getting 17 a night.
This Knicks team ia great a moving the ball also moving without it. They are slso versatile since they all play 2 or more positions.
10 Man Rotation
Turiaf-Randolph
Stoudemire-Chandler
Anthony-Gallinari
Fields-Smith
Felton-Douglas
Melo, STAT, Gallo and JR scoring
Chandler, Douglas, Randolph, Fields and Turiaf doing the intangibles
Felton running the team
New York Knicks NBA Champions this decade

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantI heard they may trade Randolph for their drafts picks they traded away to Houston from last year and use those to try to bring in Carmelo

STATnMeloParticipantThat would be this year but I’d wait because Boston isnt losing the East this year and Melo with this core would be so goooood. It would all rely on defense and believe cause I know this when Melo has a chance to win a title like in college and in 2009 he will defend with passion so will Amar’e just like last year

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantYeah, Melo and Amar’e do get that fire in their eyes when their close to a championship. And the way Felton is playing, he’s a good 3rd or 4th. The best part is that, Melo can do anything he wants on offense, as can Felton with his quickness and 3 ball. Amar’e can bang and he can hit the mid range J. Unlike the Heat that James/Wade aren’t very good spot up shooters and Bosh can’t bang nor is he an intimidating player down low.

BKKnicksfanParticipantI hear the Knicks are also looking at OJ Mayo. I would LOVE Mayo, he’s a good shooter, he’s a great defender and know his role.

JNixonParticipantThe Knicks are trying to trade Anthony Randolph to the Rockets, and look at the pic they have of him as the main picture. -______-

BKKnicksfanParticipantHere are the moves, I would make for New York heading forward.
Trades
Trade: Wilson Chandler and Anthony Randolph to Memphis for O.J. Mayo
Trade: Danillo Gallinari for a draft pick down the road and a solid player
Draft-
14 to 23 range: Tobias Harris ( could relieve pressure off Amar’e, provides another solid inside player. Other then Dwight Howard, what domination big is in the East? Whatever team have more solid bigs in 2-4 seasons might be a lock for 45 wins)
Free agency
Greg Oden ( 2 years/10 million)
Carmelo Anthony ( max deal at the time)
What do you think?

STATnMeloParticipantIf this OJ interest is true then how about these potential moves.
Fields and Azubuike(expiring deal) to Memphis for Mayo
Sign Melo in FA, keeep Randolph he will realize his potential.
Draft Fab Melo if he comes out since he gonna fall and put him behin Turiaf at Center
As for a back up 2 guard the MLE will be available and I think the perfect guy to come off the bench as a scoring spark who is used to the New York lights would be Jamal Crawford.
Turiaf/Randolph/Melo- until 2012 when Turiaf is gone and have Melo and Randolph split time at Center
Stoudemire/Chandler- STAT can go Center some time, Chandler maintains that energy role and also goes 2 or 3
Anthony/Gallinari- Gallo can go 4 sometime, CA can go 4 too
Mayo/Crawford- Mayo can defend the hell out the ball, Crawford doesnt mind a reserve role he can handle the ball too and wont demand any attention as he wants a title
Felton/Douglas/Gaines- Felton is letting his game speask, Douglas can defend and score and will learn the PG spot as he gets more time at the spot, Gaines will make a great 3rd PG for New York
They also can have different line ups Check it out
BIG- Melo/Stoudemire/Anthony/Chandler/Mayo
FAST- Stoudemire/Anthony/Crawford/Mayo/Felton
Defense- Turiaf/Randolph/Chandler/Mayo/Douglas
3 Point- Stoudemire/Gallinari/Anthony/Crawford/Douglas
Best 5 Possible- Stoudemire/Gallinari/Anthony/Chandler/Felton
Small- Stoudemire/Anthony/Crawford/Douglas/Felton
New York may have swung and missed on LeBron but I think this plan is way better
NYC I feel a title coming

DowJonezBFGParticipantMan I wish the knicks could just wait and add Carmelo via Free Agency so they wouldnt lose their current core but they have no other choice but to make the trade because the Nuggets don’t want to end up like Cleveland. You could never get back enough when you deal a player like Melo but not enough is waaaaay better than nothing at all.Chandler has been playing awesome, if the knicks could deal him and pull a fast one and get him back via Free Agency that would be great, even though its a longshot. And even if they don’t get him back picking up someone like Jamaal Crawford over the summer would be good. I’d rather him than JR Smith, the guy with immense talent with no control over it. They also could get Oden for a bargain. But, I am proud to finally say THE KNICKS FUTURE IS LOOKING BRIGHT. about time

eyefortalentParticipantAt 6-11, 220, with no upper body strength, Randolph can’t defend 5’s or 4’s. He is a tweener with no great skills for either position and will never be a quality NBA player. As for Gallo, I’m tired of the hype. He can’t defend any quality players in this league. Heck, the Pistons were running isolations on him with Tayshawn Prince. Just read the scouting report on him on this site when they said NBA players would be salivating to take advantage of him.
