Stojakovicfor3ParticipantAccording to Adrian Wojnarowski, the Brooklyn Nets have reached an agreement with Gerald Wallace on a deal for 4 years worth $40 Million.

CavsFan07ParticipantEven though he’s not a superstar, this at least brings some justice to the horrible trade they made with the Blazers.

doubledribblerParticipantActually it makes the trade far worse. You shouldn’t make another mistake in the effort of trying to clean up the previous one. They should have been excited when he opted out. The Nets could have just kept the pick and drafted a guy that they would have had for at least 4 years on a rookie deal that would have likely improved every year instead of an aging vet that is past their peak that is on the decline. Don’t get me wrong, I love how he plays, but the Nets are killing me with all their bad moves and I’m not even a fan.
Does anyone know what their cap situation is starting to look like? Obviously, Howard is Brooklyn or bust for some reason, but wouldn’t a deal like this probably mean not re-signing Lopez unless you turn around and trade him this year or next off season. Then it seems like probably a bunch of one year deals to fill out the roster. Not sure, but my thoughts. Of course all of this could be changed if they want Joe Johnson as I have heard. If I’m Atlanta that is an easy deal to make.

bloodshyParticipantI like Crash, but I’m not sure he’s a $10M/year guy. In this era of tight salary caps, $10M is no bargain for a player of his production level. Trading away the #6 overall pick (Harrison Barnes would have been the pick) to slightly overpay a reasonably productive aging vet just doesn’t seem like a great move to me. I doubt Wallace would have fetched $10M on the open market had Portland let him go.

TallmanNYCParticipantWith D.12 demanding a trade to the Nets, DWill is definitely going to hold off signing anywhere else until that gets resolved. A team of Crash, DWill and D12 is a surefire playoff team. Probably not a contender if Lebron has truely made the leap that we saw him make in the playoffs. Everyone in the East is playing for second against the Heat. But Crash, DWill, D12, Marshon Brooks, plus another decent player to be figured out would be a favorite against the aging Celtics and certainly against Rose-less Bulls. The Knicks we don’t know because we don’t know how Lin will fit in with Melo and Amare or if Lin can continue to play like an All-Star. But I’d still like the Nets chances against them.

aamir543ParticipantI don’t like it, they needed to keep him but I still don’t like that overpaid him by a good 10-12 million. This does however mean that if the Magic do pull the trigger, that the Nets will have at least 1 solid complimentry peice around D-Will and Dwight.
