If you’re a PG, I’d go with #3, but a second choice, I’d go #21, I wore it my freshman and sophomore years because of KG, but had to switch my jr year because a senior was already wearing it.  Thats my two cents. haha

    Get 21 or 3. Since you’re a PG, I’d go with 3. I’m a PG too…I had 21 my 7th grade year in JV but I wanted 3…never got it, so I’ve stuck with 23 since 9th grade

It’s my number, because of Jason Williams. But regardless of Jwill, the deuce-deuce is a classic number, that just looks good on a jersey.

Pick number 3, works well if you’re a PG. Plenty of good PGs wore/wear #3, and it’s kinda something to look up to: Chris Paul, Allen Iverson, Brandon Jennings, Ty Lawson, Stephon Marbury,  Dwyane Wade (even though he’s a SG).

yeah, i played center. At 6-4 i was the second tallest guy and my skills were pretty limited to around the basket when i was in highschool.

Well your pic would indicate you already picked 22, so why not just stick with that? I would say no to 3, so many players in so many positions have that number, its overdone.

@universal, not in highschool. I meant to say my skills in hs were limited to only being good around the basket. After highschool i worked on my perimiter game non stop and was able to run point in most pickup games unless it was like d1 level comp in which case i would just spot up or go back to working in the post.

does it matter what number u wear???? do you think that will affect your performence in the game?? its not like u wear number 3 and u play like iverson or if u wear 32 u play like shaq. its really pointless

I’d say wear #22. That is my number and start a trend for PGs to start wearing #22 lol….soon all the young PGs will be wearing that number.

And it is the number in your display pic too.

Your number gives you and identity like you see NBA players have reasoning behind some of their numbers

0- Gilbert because they said he’d get no minutes

35- Durant’s mentor dies at that age

23- LeBron wore it to honor Jordan

I will not say my number makes me play different but it just has to mean somethin to me

I have chosen #22 because my brothers B-Day is february 2nd (2/2) and not a lot of great players have really worn this number (Drexler, Gay, Baylor)

    thanks for the help users

Be unique. A lot of HS guards run with 3, unless one of your idols rock it, I’d say do your own thing.

I like your reasoning behind picking 22.

If I had the chance to pick a number I think I would have gone with 13. It’s a combination of John Stockton’s and Muggsy Bogues’ numbers. Plus, I’m not superstitious so I think it would be kinda funny to have #13.

Pick a number that you will be identified with…Make yourself standout..

I have my number 0 retired by 2 different schools in 2 different states (Mississippi & Ohio) I attended my freshman & sophomore year in Ohio and my jr. and senior year in Mississippi..My schools didn’t have 0,so i ordered it and paid for it myself…

Nike said they’ll pay Lebron not to wear number 23..But he chose to wear it anyway..Now he choses to wear number 6 the same number 2 Legends of the game wore…Why didn’t he chose a number he would be known for?

Why criticize Lebron or any other player for his choice of number. If someone wants to be original than they will be. It is enough for me as a fan that players choose numbers that they like and want to wear.
