So, with all of the top recruits but Thon Maker (who may turn out to be inelibigible) having commited, which teams do you think will be most improved next year? Here are some teams I would think will be greatly improved:

    1. California: With the commitments of Jaylen Brown and Ivan Rabb and the return of almost all their best players California is an obvious choice.

    2. Indiana is another team. They return basically all of their roster and add Thomas Bryant.

    3. Texas A&M: a team I am excited about. They’ll be led by three seniors Danuel House, Alex Caruso and Jalen Jones + they are adding a very deep class led by two big men (Tyler Davis and Elijah Thomas) at least one of whom I expect to play well (I think it will be Davis) and help the seniors with some inside scoring and rebounding.

    4. Florida: I’m not too sure about the team now that Billy Donovan is gone, but the team adds John Egbunu, who was projected to go in the first round this year before transferring from South Florida, people seem to have forgotten about him, but he should be really good. With Devin Robinson and Dorian Finney-Smith returning they might have the most talented frontcourt in the nation, they have a deep recruiting class coming in, which should provide them with quality bench minutes.

I’m also really curious to see how Butler does with the addition of Tyler Lewis.

Who did I forget to mention? Who is your most improved NCAA team of 2015-2016?

I don’t see how you can put Florida on any sort of Most Improved list when they just lost the best coach in program history and one of the best college coaches of the past 20 years.

I absolutely agree, they do have a great roster though, in my opinion, and they are coming off a very weak season, so I can see them getting better next year.

Perhaps not one of the most improved teams, you’re right, I did put them last because I just thought the John Egbunu addition deserved a mention.

Kansas as has been mentioned before, has to be a legit title contender now, assuming their younger guns along with Selden have the expected individual improvement.

Yea, but they also lost 2 of their stars in Mickey and Jarrel Martin (who I think is a very underrated prospect). But then again Simmons is another kind of prospect so lets see if they do improve a lot.

They have Malcolm Hill and Kendrick Nunn returning who played better when leading scorer ( Rrayvonte Rice ) was out. Their starting point guard Tracy Abrams returning from missing all of last season from an injury. They brought in a 5th year transfer in Mike Thorpe. They brought in a top 20 recruiting class headline by top 35 player in Jalen Coleman-Lands and one of the best JUCO players in Darius Paul. And they potentially can land one of the best 5th year transfer an Dylan Ennis or potentially get one of the best point guards in the class in Marcus LoVett.

For me it’s UConn, and that isn’t even a homer pick. They were highly inconsisted this year, and when I asked their assistant coach about the team in the begining of the year his exact words were "We’re just not a very good team right now, and every game is going to be a battle." To me it showed that their was a lack of leadership amoungst players, and the coaching staff had a hard time getting through to the new additions. I expect all of that to change this year.

UConn is going to have Brimah, Pervis, Hamilton, Facey, and Calhoun coming back, so they are going to be a veteran team, and also added the #5 ranked PG in Jalen Adams who has a smooth game, and the #16 center Steven Enoch.

I expect a lot from Pervis, Hamilton, and Brimah. Pervis was the best player on the team at the end of the year, and is unstoppable going to the basket. If he can hit the 3 ball at a high clip he’s going to be a tough guard for anyone, and I expect him to be the leader of this team next year. Hamilton also came on strong, and is going to be a solid player, as we can see from his NBA lottery projections. Brimah is meh to me. He’s a good college defender, and I think he needs to come out and play with fire. He’s a big dude who can block shots, and he needs to play the enforcer. UConn is such a long an athletic team, that they should be able to play defense that is passable, unlike this past year.

I also think you have to take coaching into account as well. To me the two most important aspects of a good college team are the PG’s and the coaches. Kevin Ollie is great in both of those regards, as he is a good pg coach, and as we saw with the recent OKC rumors, a coach who others speak highly of. I’m a little critical of his substitution patterns, and this he could make a better defense, but theres no denying that he’s a good coach, and his teams play hard for him.

I’d be shocked if this UConn team doesn’t crack the top 25 and makes the tourny. I expect them to make a run as well, maybe to the Sweet 16, because they have all the make up of a team that can go far. It all comes down to Pervis, if he wants this to be his team, and I think he does.

They didn’t really add anybody new but they should be better by virtue of experience since the team played all of the freshmen major minute last season. The entire team can shoot, which should help NBA prospect Damian Jones down low, who should start commanding double-teams in his junior year next season. If they want to go big the can play Jones and Kornet for some high-low action. Kornet, a 7-0, 240 lb sophomore, shot 38% from downtown on 3.6 attempts and is a solid passing big man. But if they want to go small, it’ll be contigent for borderline Top-100 recruit Joseph Toye, to be an impact player of the defensive end guarding both forward spots and containing pentrating guards as well.

Riley LaChance and Wade Baldwin were a very good backcourt their freshman year with both players being +38% volume shooters and possessing very good assist-to-turnerover ratios with their vision. The 6’3 Baldwin is fairly athletic with a 6-10 to be able to guard much bigger than he is. Then their swingman consist of freshmen Matthew Fisher-Davis and Jeff Roberson, both shoot over 40% from three on volume attempts. Roberson, like Toye, will also be key is small-ball lineups since he has a long wingspan and could possibly guard power forwards. And they add Nolan Cressler from Cornell, who led them in scoring in 2014 to probably come off the bench.

Vanderbilt has one of the best recruiting groups this year actually. They are definitely one of the most underrated groups along with UNLV and Texas A&M to name a few. Toye is underrated to a fault after being on a deep Whitney Young team. Sehic and Baptiste aren’t getting their due respect as a great offence defence bigmen combo. Both are physical specimens and ready for SEC size and physicality.

Sehic is 6’9 250 a great post player and one of the most skilled bigs in the class. He can drill jumpers out to 18-feet and also college 3-point range. Yet another shooter Vanderbilt adds yet his post game and tenacity rebounding is why he was recruited.

Baptiste is about 6-10/7-ft and 240-260 by now. His wingspan looks ridiculous and he is an amazing athlete. He wears number 12, and wears a mohawk as well if your wondering who he is modelling his game after. Despite the vast interest he has in Dwight Howard he has an improving standstill jump shot and FT.

They also got more depth shooting with Cameron Justice. He’s not a great athlete or prospect but he is a great shooter. Adding shooting depth is important and Vanderbilt did it with this guy.

Indiana, we have the same core coming back from last year. Yogi, blackmon, zeisloft, holt, williams, johnson, and perea. Last year we had no size other than perea at 6-9 and he was very inconsistent and had knee troubles the whole year. We have good guards in Yogi and blackmon, williams has also shown to be good. Holt and johnson will only get better as last year they were freshman. Zeisloft is a great shooter and guard to come off the bench and Hartman is a great glue guy.

We’ve also added Anuboy, Morgan and AA Thomas Byrant. Bryant a PF/C who’s got the body and is ready to go from day one will give us 23-30 minutes a night. I feel him and Yogi will play good together, because Yogi likes to push the tempo and Bryant runs the floor very well and he crashes the glass well and we all know Indiana likes to shoot. Thomas also helps us on the defensive end, he takes away pressure from the guards knowing they got him in the backline.

Morgan a 6-7, 6-8 PF will give us size down low too, he has great athleticsm although I feel his basketbal IQ is a little low and he’s just not strong enough. He has great moves tho and is very quick. I see a lot of potential in him though. Give him till next year.

Don’t know to much about Anuoby, just that he’s another 6-7 Forward from Missouri.

Although I don’t feel Indiana is one of the most improved teams, they did get better and I think they have chance of winning the Big 10 although Maryland will be hard to beat. I think they will surpise a lot of people and will be a underdog for most of the season. I also like Tom Crean as a coach, although he is known to do be underwhelming with great players.
