The MVP race is heating up. Last push before the All Star Game. After that, the lightening round.

10 players now remain eligible. Including DeMarcus Cousins who tore it up in January (in more ways than one).

I would like to bid goodbye to Lowry, Butler, Love, Aldridge, Klay Thompson, and Andre Drummond.

Top 10: KD, Steph, Russ, Giannis, LeBron, KAT, Kyrie, Harden, DeRozan, and Boogie Cousins.  Top 3 from last week get byes. The remaining 7 fight over two Top 5 spots and the wild card slot.  Boogie actually has a chance at getting the wild card bid.  After this week the top 6 will duke it out until All Star Weekend. Bonus points for the ASG: 1 point for a win, 2 for MVP, and 5 for best overall stat score. Then the MVP Final Four over the final 7 weeks. Only players who win at least one week will be eligible for MVP. Sudden death: if a player wins 4 of the 7 weeks then he is aoutomatically the MVP.

ok: my top 8 MVP Power Poll for the last week of January: 1. Steph (gets auto bid) 2. KD (auto bid) 3. Westbrook (auto bid) 4. Giannis 5. LeBron 6. Cousins 7. Harden 8. Klay

Harden just posted a 60-point triple double – the first in NBA history. Dude’s been unreal this season. MVP is his to lose at this point.

It would really be hard to argue against Harden right now. I absolutely Love what Kyrie is doing for Boston. And Kyrie deserves some mention, but Harden is head and shoulders above anyone else. Curry has Durant, nad Durant has Curry. There is no K Leonard, Lebron is beasting but Cleveland is losing a lot.

So Harden should finally get his MVP.

Yeah ,Harden is in the lead and will win if the Rockets continue to pile up victories.

There are a few sleepers like Jimmy Butler, Derozan, Westbrook & Embiid who for my money w/ Kawhi Leonard out is the most Dominant 2 way player in the NBA right now & w/o him that Sixers team can’t even win 20 games.

But to me, there is still a long way to go but it’s Harden in the lead w/ Kyrie on his tail laights

Boston has a lot of good but not great players. You take Kyrie off that Celtics team & they are fighting for an 8 seed & struggling to be .500

But it’ll be hard to beat Harden when he puts up signature moments like the first ever 60 point triple double which is just insane!
