MVP power poll mid-week preview: LeBron looks to be running away with this thing this week.

Now the question is, can Harden finish at least 2nd — then he would TIE LeBron (or whoever else) for the MVP award.

    Raw stats

    1. Lebron 33.75

    2. Giannis 21.88

    3. Durant 18.67

    4. DeRozan 18.25

    5. Harden 14.17

And, keeping tabs on the MVP 6th man aka Mr. MVP6, Anthony Davis has yet to win a game for this week although his overall stats are great.

Now, putting in bonus points for ASG (1 point to KD), LeBron’s ASG MVP 5 bonus points plus 1 point for last weeks win, Harden’s 5 for being the pre-ASG MVP and his 2 weekly wins, and DeRozan’s 1 point for his winning week.

    1. LeBron 39.75

    2. Giannis 21.88

    3. Harden 21.17

    4. Durant 19.67

    5. DeRozan 19.25

Harden is percentage points behind Greek Freak.  He needs to close the deal.  Otherwise, he might finish 3rd this week.  Although KD and DeRozan are close, too.  KD has yet to win a week and neither has Giannis, so if they don’t win this week, they will end up in the 4 and 5 spots.

If this week ended today, LeBron would be the MVP. Harden would be 2nd (with two weekly wins) although he would not get a TIE for Co-MVP. DeRozan third for his weekly win, then Giannis in fourth place and Durant in fifth place (although in a race this close I would have to see the entirety of their MVP race runs since the end of All Star Weekend).  KD had back-to-back last place finishes, but so did Giannis, should be interesting to see who winds up in the fourth spot.

As of right now, the two most LIKELY scenarios are LeBron running away with this thing by himself, OR Harden closing out on Giannis and the other guys and making this a Co-MVP Award.  Probably close to the end result in the REAL MVP race.  Giannis, KD, or DeRozan will need a MIRACLE to pull this thing out.

My MVP rankings if this thing ended today:

    1. LeBron: MVP

    2. Harden

    3. DeRozan

    4. Giannis

    5. KD (missing so many games recently kinda killed his chances)

    6. Anthony Davis

Not a bad ranking, and my MVP power poll race had some actual "logic" to it.

    Thanks for playing!
