MadDogParticipantI always found it interesting that The Harlem Globetrotters didn’t actually originate in Harlem but were named as such to seem more flashy to rural audiences. I guess another thing that people don’t talk about so much either was the fact that Magic once averaged a rounded up triple double (I think his 82 stats were like 19 PTS 9.8 AST 9.5 REB or something) for a season during a much more competitive time than the 60s, but we always Only hear about Oscar’s ’62 season (probably because he was the only one who did actually do it)? Heard of any other quirky / lesser known NBA facts?
(Also, on a side note, I really recommend the Harlem Globetrotters Documentary, its gold)

King CaluchaParticipantThis topic is always fun.
Wilt Chamberlain averaged 50.4ppg and 25.7rpg in the 61-62 season. The most surprising thing is that he played 48.5mpg!

Jco4ParticipantSteve Kerr is the only player to post a 50/50/90 FG/3PT/FT % season or above however he didn’t take enough shots to qualify his FG% He needed 300 attempts and took 220 or so (don’t know exact figures).

JoeWolf1Speaking of the triple double season mark…
Only 5 players ever have come close to the triple double season mark, by averaging over 10+ ppg, 8+ rpg and 8+ apg
Oscar Robertson ( 5 times )
Magic Johnson ( 3 times )
Wilt Chamberlain ( 1 time )
Michael Jordan ( 1 time )
Jason Kidd ( 1 time )
