Lotto StudParticipantHuge, huge question!
Did they implement Michael Kidd-Gilchrist’s new and improved shooting form?

IndianaBasketballParticipantMKG’s jumper looks the same for the most part.
I haven’t been playing it for that long, but I’m impressed so far. They’ve cleaned up a lot of little things and have really captured a lot of the small details that make the NBA great.
I’ve played with the Pacers and the arena looks exactly like it does. And they nailed the pre-game intros. The announcers say and the players do exactly what they do in real life. For example, when George Hill was announced, the announcer said "The hometown hero" and with David West he said, "He’s a baaaaddd man" lol.
The cheerleaders look more realistic and don’t move so robotic. The big heads in the crowd. The mascots. The players actually wear their warmups on the bench. The coaches look more realistic and during interviews, it looks way more realistic. When you make or miss shots, it sounds realistic and exactly like you’re in the arena… The fouls are more realistic and just the animations of the players. The game feels and looks smoother. I feel like
So far… So good.

Lotto StudParticipantThe biggest off the court improvement I actually like, was noticing the huge Big-head of John Wall in the crowd while shooting Free Throws.

username_takenParticipantOnly problem is that the Face Scan feature isn’t working well for many.

machu46ParticipantI can’t speak for XBox One users, because it sounds like they’re having some other issues with the Face Scan, but it’s been pretty easy for me on the PS4. I leave the camera on its stand and hold it out in front of me and just slowly turn my head and get 4000-5000 reference points each time. My face came out really good.
The issue is that since 2K’s servers are having issues, if you lose connection for a second, it rescrambles your face so then you have to spend another hour tweaking it again. I got mine to a place where I like it, and now I’m nervous to do anything because I don’t want to lose it.

Magic JordanParticipantI’m really only interested in the new Drafting/scouting system in association mode. Has anybody tried it out yet?

korismakkeParticipantHi,has anyone tested the game on ps3 or xbox360? Are there as much improvements as in next gen consoles or is it just basically the same as 2k14?

CynthiaParticipantWell I took off work and logged a staggering 17 hours of NBA 2K15 yesterday. I can honestly say it is much improved in almost every category, which is welcomed news since the game hasn’t changed much at all the last two years.
MyGM (formerly Association Mode) is awesome, there’s so much more features and things you can control now. Some people might find all of the front office stuff a bit overwhelming but I thought it was excellent, you can even change the price on hot dogs. I did a Fantasy Fixed Draft and randomed a pretty bad set of players, formerly this wasn’t an issue because I could dominate with pretty much whoever it gave me, but they’ve added a lot more realism and the game seems to be more difficult so far, and what I mean by difficult is it’s actually challenging and fun.
Speaking on the realism they’ve upped their game in player movements and graphics. Usually the graphics get slightly better every year so that’s not a huge surprise, but the player movement has been mostly the same for the past 2-3 years. It now feels a lot more crisp & realistic.
My Career/My Player has finally received some masssssssive updates. You can actually create a player that looks human now instead of a creepy alien like in years past. The best part is probably the hair, there’s a lot of new and realistic hairstyles and hair colours that don’t look like they were just spray painted on. Furthermore this mode actually has a storyline to it, I won’t ruin it with details but it has cut scenes, choices of what to say, and seems really dynamic so far. They changed up the statistics a bit for this mode too, no longer do you have to choose a stat upgrade between like 50 stats. There’s 6 categories you can upgrade, and each has their own multiple stats that upgrade at once, obviously this means it’s a bit more expensive but personally I like it much better already. It looks like instead of pre-picking your players play-style you will kind of make one yourself as you play, but I’m not super far in this mode yet.
The new NBA 2K TV thing I think might be pretty cool, you can watch a webisode that they tape and actually incorporate into the game. There’s only one episode so far, and I’m not sure how often they will actually upload them. (HINT: If you watch the first episode all the way through it will give you a code for free 1000 VC points)
The commentators are still the same, and unfortunately still say a lot of the same things. However there’s a new pre-game show that has Ernie & Shaq, this thing is hilarious so far. Also there’s intros once you get to the game too, like announcements of the starting players (used to you would only see this the first game of the season and then some in the playoffs).
The player ratings have drastically changed, a lot of players have seen an improvement, some are pretty massive improvements. So far it seems to be a good thing though, no one has seemed overpowered yet. A lot of average NBA players now have some pretty high ratings but they don’t seem to be way better or anything. Honestly it’s more of a visual change than anything because all they basically did was up the ratings across the board for everyone.
This game has a lot more depth than ever before, I’m loving the even more realistic movements and I love that you can actually REBOUND now…yes that’s right, you can now rebound when you jump for it instead of losing out on the rebound to the computer 90% of the time like before. This was probably one of the first things I noticed. I have Al Horford which is a decent rebounder and one of my first games I had 17 rebounds (averaging 12), and I personally grabbed 11 of them. I used to avoid using the power forwards and centers in association mode on defense because the rebounds were so hard to get it felt like I was hindering myself so it was easier to let the computer teammate grab it, well that’s no longer the case, box outs actually work and it actually jumps for the rebound in the direction you tell it to. I’ve won a lot of rebound battles already that I would of had no chance of winning in 2K14 and prior.
That’s all I can think of right now, I’m sure there’s a few things I missed. After some extensive play time on the first day I’m going to give this game a 10/10. I don’t give out 10s lightly, in fact I’m not sure I ever have for an NBA 2K game because they always felt like they was missing something and this time I think they really got it right.

IndianaBasketballParticipantThis is a small tweak lol, but during freestyle practice mode, they no longer just have the player you’re practicing with on the floor… They bring out two of his teammates with him. For the first 10 minutes, I couldn’t figure out what they were out there for and then after accidentally pressing A, I realized they pass you the ball and retrieve your rebounds lol.

Lotto StudParticipantI like Elfrid Payton, A LOT! His play is beyond managable with the complimentary pieces in A. Gordon/Oladipo running the floor.
