Hi there. Just thinking out loud here. I’d love to do a 30-team draft where every GM represents an NBA franchise. It would be called the National Fantasy Basketball Association(based on the Premier Fantasy Championship on nba.com a few years ago). The draft would include every NBA player and would snake. Categories would be FG%, FTs made, 3PT, REB, ASS, STL, BLK, PTS and TO. Roster slots would be PG, SG, SF, PF, C, UTI and 2 bench spots. Daily moves. 16 playoff teams, no keepers and Larry O’Brien Trophy winner. Online draft around September and first come, first serve free agency. If you’re interested, post here with your e-mail. Take care. Thanks.

I’d recommend going no further than 15 teams in a fantasy league especially in a NBA fantasy league where there are only a handful of truly dominant players.

I understand that the 30th team would get the 31st pick too, but the difference between a Top 10 pick is pretty big compared to picking at 30. And then there’s not much difference between 30-60.

That’s the difference between a Lebron James as your first pick or a Rudy Gay as your first pick.

30 teams is way too many, I’m in a fantasy league with my friends at school, and we have 20 teams. We’re in the semi-finals right now and there are 4 teams left(all of us are 5-8 seeds) and we had the 5th, 7th, 8th, and 19th picks in the draft. The guys who picked 19th was able to get Marc Gasol and Serge Ibaka, and got lucky in the first round. The top three teams had the 1st pick, 13th pick(but he got Melo) and the 18th pick(he got Harden, then Milsap, Gallinari, and traded for Westbrook, but got unlucky in the first round) But my experience is that without the star power at the top, it’s difficult to compete.

Hi there. I realize with say, 12 teams, your team is more loaded. The point of the NFBA idea was so that every GM could represent an NBA franchise. It would give you a realistic look and idea of being an NBA GM. I was GM of the Philadelphia 76ers in the PFC in 2006-07 and it was one of the best fantasy experiences of my life. Take care. Thanks.
