Lebron’s HairlineParticipantMonta Ellis has recently made some comments lately where he states he “has it all” on the court and that he belongs in the same class as Dwyane Wade. How crazy is this guy for saying this? IMO he is one of if not the most overrated player in basketball. He doesnt make your team better and he puts up alot of empty inefficient points; plus he gambles way to much on D, would love for him to become a super sixth man on a contenders bench. http://larrybrownsports.com/basketball/monta-ellis-same-category-as-dwyane-wade/167846

PurpleMonkeyDishwasherParticipantYou have to look at it like basketball players are baseball pitchers… what’s their won loss record? If they lose what sense are the rest of the stats worth? If a player leads the league in scoring or rebounding and the next season they are able to draft a Anthony Davis or MKG because they lost most games are they worthy of a large contract?

For_Never_EverParticipantMonta has put up about 20 ppg, and around 4 apg for pretty much his whole career. He doesn’t bring anything else to the table. No, he has never deserved a major contract.

druneave3ParticipantA W/L record for a pitcher in baseball is a terrible judge for talent. He could have zero run support, bullpen lose games in later innings, errors, and several other factors that may determine HIS record.

Dale WorthingtonParticipantWell said.

Dale WorthingtonParticipantW/L is about the least objective way of evaluating a pitcher.
Even ERA lacks objectivity when you factor in park effects, defense (specifically range), random fluctuations in BABIP, and random fluctuations in LOB%.

Malik-UniversalParticipantmonta is good…. but every nba player can compete on defense and offense, finish in transition, shoot, etc….. thats y there in the nba…. that was such a dumb statement

sheltwon3ParticipantWould you guys want to him to believe that he is not as good as Wade. I mean unlike a lot of players his stats show he could at least have an argument regardless if you like him or his team. Wade has been on some average teams before so it is not just him that has been the reason for Heat wins.

WolfRobParticipantIts a stupid statement. Monta can say that when lead his team to a ship.

the I in winParticipantSelf-confidence is important but still a dumb statement to say aloud. I guess if he was asked “are you as good as dwayne wade” then I would be ok with the statement but if he just said this then it’s dumb because all it manages to accomplish is motivate Wade.

jmarg25ParticipantHow is he overrated though, he’s never been in an all star game.

Mr. 19134ParticipantI don’t agree I think Monta Ellis is the 4th best SG in the league behind Kobe, Wade, and Harden. The only other SG on his level right now is Manu of course. You guys are treating him like he’s Demar Derozan whose only putting up empty scoring stats. Monta is averaging over 6 apg this year sharing the backcourt with Jennings on an offensively inept team for the most part. And yes he’s not a great on ball defenders but he does make defensive plays with his quick hands and gets a ton of steals. And I forgot to mention the part that he’s the best player on a team that’s one of the better teams in the Eastern Conference right now despite having motley roster.

IndianaBasketballParticipantMonta Ellis is one of those players who people either overrate or underrate… It’s never really an in between with him in regards to people’s opinions.
I think he’s one of the more talented (and fun to watch) two guards in the NBA, but I’ve never bought him as a franchise player or an elite level two guard. He’s dreaming if he thinks he’s in the same category as D. Wade.
“I mean, at the end of the day, the only thing that he has that I don’t have is more wins and two championships. That’s it…”
Lol funny he acts like winning and championships don’t mean a lot.

Malik-UniversalParticipanthes exciting to watch for my personal enjoyment….. he has lots of talent…. hes listed at 6’3” when hes really 6’2”, has short arms, and looks like mini me out there… but damn it he can really score and is very explosive

BenchWarmerParticipantHe is a hell of a player, he is not on wades level tho.
