Feb is an important month for scouts to go & look @ prospects. Of Course the whole body of work should be considered. but a ton of $$$ is made during conference & final 4 time. Who could be this years Ed Obannon/Hayward kid from Butler or/C.Brewer. Guys that turn it on for tourney time then fail in the NBA.

He was not a tourney wonder. I had a basketball preview magazine that called him can’t miss before the season even began in 1994-95. His knee concerns were what dropped him to #8 in the draft, but he looked like a future All-Star long before he lead the Bruins to the chip. Also, Gordon was thought to be a pretty high pick even before the tourney, the tourney maybe boosted him into the top 10 in some peoples eyes, but he was definitely on the radar. Corey Brewer probably got the most from his tourney exposure, especially the second time around when he was Florida’s most consistent scorer. Tourney can boost your stock, but the chances are that these guys were already pretty well thought of prospects regardless. Bryce Drew even had some buzz going before Valpo’s Cinderella experience. Guys do not come from out of nowhere usually, but I do not really see a direct correllation between tourney success stories and NBA failure. I think BTPH kind of hit it on the head when he was talking about people making way to much over a big game or big moment. These things usually have been a long time coming, not just a flash in the pan from one big moment.

I did’nt know about E.O’Bannon being a top pick before the tourney. It just seems that your performance can enhance your chances of being picked higher. I doubt Gordon would have been picked in the top ten if he never made it to the Championship game. If P.George and Fresno.St would have made it and he was getting major exposure he would have went Top 5 last year. If i had the time i would go look it up, but who cares, i think the Big Dance can sway teams. B.Roy made a huge run prior to getting drafted that helped his stock.

just like i thought Mocks had G.Hayward draft 14th by Rockets. Not 10th by Jazz, overhyped

The example you should have used was Patrick O’Bryant from Bradley.

But to answer your question it will have to be a pure scorer or a big time post player. My guesses are Andrew Goudelock from Charelston and Jordan Williams Maryland. I know Williams is already a better known prospect but I think he can brake the top 10 with great post season performaces. Goudelock wont go that high but he could get into the firt round like a George Hill or Eric Maynnor. I saw him play in the Tennesse upset and he looked unstoppable.

After watching Andrew Goudelock the last 2 seasons, in my opinion, he is the #3 guard in the country (Behind Jimmer and Walker).

This kid is quick and can flat out score, inside and outside.  He hits 3 pointers 5-7 feet behind the line with ease, and has one the of quickest releases I have seen.  Plus, he shoots over 50% from the field, which is amazing because he is by FAR the best player in the Southern Conference, which means he is always double teamed and is still #4 in the nation in scoring..

Was at the game against Clemson where the Tigers did an amazing job of guarding him, so he went and got 9 assists and still had 24 points.  The kid is a STEAL in the early second round, a smart NBA club is going to take a chance on this kid..

I made a post about this, how the NBA scouts that i have talked to said that players don’t really rise from great tournament performances unless they show something that they hadn’t shown during the year. Like if Jimmer killed in the tourney with the same game he has killed with all year he may rise one spot if that.
