It’s getting close to the halfway mark of the season & the "Big 3" had been having problems at first, but now they are meshing well together.

Will Miami make a run for a couple of players before the trade deadline, to beef up their roster for the playoffs, or will they just sign some vets to 10-Day contracts or whatever?

On another thread someone had mentioned they should look to acquire Eddy Curry, which I believe would be a "power" move only if he was in shape & was willing to stay healthy to play.

How much of a impact would Eddy Curry or whatever player they may acquire have for them in the off-season when they try to go on a run for the title?

If they acquire Eddy Curry, i am 99% sure it is so they have money to spend this offseason.

I don’t think it would be a bad move unless he does not play. Why acquire someone & pay him just to sit on his ass & eat all day.

     Jason Williams anyone?
Veteran Leadership; Very Good Backup, Barely Average Starter.
He could help the team alot,

His final dance would be a Return to Miami for a chance at the ‘Chip

Nah, MIA wouldn’t really have offseason money, in the other thread I was simply talking as if they were to get him off of waivers. Not on his large contract. Curry would probably not get a lot of burn this year(10-15minutes), more like a trial to see if he still has the game, and  the desire to get back in shape for the opportunity. If he were to give good signs, I’d thinkthey would sign him to a small two year deal with a T.O. on the second year so that if he doesn’t work out you just spent a little on him for one year. If Billups were to get bought out, I could see him joining up. Michael Redd,Carl Landry,TJ Ford, Eddy Curry, and Sam Dalembert are a few names to also keep in mind. Nene was mentioned as a guy looking to hit MIA if Den didn’t want him after a Melo trade. Still a couple weeks too soon to speculate.

Billups if he got brought out would be perfect for Miami, I caanot see much logic in Eddy Curry when they have Big Z, Magloire, Dampier and Anthony to cover the C position. Nene would probably only get MLE in Miami so to go there he’d have to take a big pay cut, Tyson Chandler could be thrown into the same boat but like Nene he could surely get better money elsewhere.

they dont have any money to spend and htey have a full 15 man roster. Not sure there is anyone out there for cheap that would make much difference.

On a side note, how about mike miller bouncing back big the other game? He has done nothing all season even since coming back form injury he has more DNPs then baskets. But the other day he set a heat franchise record with like 22 2nd quarter points and finished with 32 and also got like 10 boards. He was looking like the mike miller they were hoping for so maybe he can make a difference down the stretch.

Not a Miami fan, but I really would love to see T.J. Ford on Miami’s roster. If he goes to Miami he could come in & give that much needed veteran leadership at the PG position to mentor Chalmers. I understand Arroyo is the man at the 1, but Ford could come in as a backup or starter & give up very valuable minutes, because he looks to get everyone involved.
