How far do you guys think this team is capable of going? Memphis could be a darkhorse to win the Western Conference and move on to the finals. Im not saying it will happen but I could definitely see it happening

The western conference is pretty much wide open if you ask me.. I would prefer a spurs-memphis matchup rather than a spurs-clips though..

I respect the Grizz they are playing the b-ball I love defensive minded team but their problem is with their offense but who knows maybe just maybe they are going to put that together thru the playoffs

I think they could very well win the west. I think it will be either them or OKC and without Westbrook, OKC is in a bit of trouble.

I hope Memphis makes the Finals, because a matchup between them and the Heat could be very interesting. The Grizzlies size and ability in the half-court could give the Heat some trouble. The Heat would still probably win, but they would be in much more trouble against the Grizzlies than against the Spurs or the Westbrook-less Thunder.

West is wide open, ever since Westbrook went down…………and you know what to be honest, I think San Antonio is going to the finals now.

OKC would still be a tough matchup for the Grizzlies even without Westbrook. OKC’s bigs are better defensively and tougher inside than the Clips IMO. With that being said, the Griz are a better and tougher team defensively overall than OKC, so it would definitely be a good series if they both advance.

I like what they have put together in Memphis. I had been waiting for them to start doing what they have been doing the last few games and just pound the ball inside with Gasol and Randolph. It’s the one advantage they have on probably 95% of the teams in the league. There are a few problems with this team though. They need another outside shooter and a big that will give you quality minutes off the bench. Ed Davis seems to play well when he starts, but he is useless off the bench.

I don’t see OKC beating them with no Westbrook. I would have them losing in the conference finals against the Spurs.

I will take our starting five against any team not named Miami.

Gasol is on a roll, and Z Bo really got going last night. In a seven game series those two beasts will be hard to stop.

Mike Conley is playing brilliant basketball, Tony Allen is making plays, and Tay Prince is getting it going.

With those guys doing very well, we still need some bench production obviously, but we don’t need huge games from Bayless or whoever every game in order to win. Just get a few baskets off the bench, some rebounds, and some solid minutes from 3 or 4 games from our backups every night.

I actually like what Keyon Dooling is doing off the bench. He has hit some three’s and he has solid size for a point guard.

I think we can go to the Finals. We would probably lose in 5 or 6 games, unless the Heat didn’t get the calls. Then we could win in 7.

Win in 7? So that means you’d back the Grizzlies to beat the Heat in Miami in Game 7 of the Finals with Lebron going after a 2nd championship?

The first time I made a quick bracket, I had the Grizzlies going to the Finals.

My final bracket, I had them going to the Conf Finals

    Zee Professor,

IF the Grizzlies can hit their shots and IF Z Bo and Gasol continue to dominate and IF the Heat don’t get all those superstar calls then I think it would be a 7 game series.

I like Conley over Chalmers at point guard and Gasol/Z Bo inside over Bosh and Haslem. LeBron is a beast right now (playing like a Top 5 All Time Guy) but I think if anyone can play solid D against him and Wade it would be the combination of Prince, Tony Allen, Q Pon, and even a guy like Darrell Arthur or Ed Davis at the 4.

Our bench isn’t great but when Jerryd Bayless is on he can really score. We have a few extra power forwards and some options at back up point guard.
