llperezanyone else watching this game right now? Arizona state looks much better then I had expected before the season. I knew all about jahii carson and his jumper looks even better now. he’s 3-3 from the field and his two three pointers didnt even draw rim. And big man Jordan Bazynscki is owning the paint on defense early on here with 3 blocks and a couple other contests.

MalcolmxParticipantI’m not currently watching the game but I am big on Jahii Carson. Kid is a stud.

llperezbachynski is dominating this game at both ends. 2 minutes left in the first half and he has 12 points on 5-6 shooting with 7 boards and 3 blocks and is clogging the lane for marquette. He’s 7-2 250lbs and has decent skills and mobility and good hands.

Sewok15ParticipantBachynski has had a double double every game so far this year. He impresssed me against UNLV when he had 17 points 15 boards and 4 blocks in an incredible 37 minutes. At 7-2 you don’t expect somebody to have the mobility or touch that Jordan has. He is 24 years old and usually has 6 inches on his matchup in college so I don’t know about his potential at the next level…but he will certainly be a big factor on this ASU team as they attempt to compete for a Pac-12 title.

llperezMarquette ona big run right now. AZ st been up double digits the whole way, but now marqutte going to the line to tie it. Jahii sat a lot in the first with fouls and now he is struggling that he is back in.

llperezmeh, marqutte getting 4 ft’s off 2 techs right now. 1 fan through a glow stick on the court during a deadball. Uusually they give one warning, but the refs decided immediate tech on the fans. bs

Sewok15ParticipantThat is ridiculous. How is ASU supposed to keep one person out of 10,000 from doing something stupid. Throw the guy out but don’t punish the team…or the next thing we will have undercover Duke fans posing as UNC fans doing crap like that.

llperezthey didn’t see the offender, but one object during a deadball usually results in the home teams coach giving a warning to the fans which sendek did and the second time will be a tech, but they went ahead and gave the immediate tech without a warning.
Anyways, ASU on a run right now, Jahii is taking over. His handle is ridiculous and he just drilled a three from 4 feet behind the line with no hesitation. He is a stud.

MalcolmxParticipantThat tech is just stupid no two ways about it. Jahii is a special player though. Keep giving us updates. I’m kind of upset that I can’t see this game for myself. To me he is the best Pg in the nation but isn’t the best prospect.Still is a first rounder in my eyes though. Kid dropped 40 on UNLV last week while shooting a good percentage. I believe it was 16-25 if I’m not mistaken. He is a problem.

Sewok15ParticipantI’m assuming you don’t consider Marcus Smart a point guard?
0- Posted on: Mon, 11/25/2013 - 6:33pm #852604
MalcolmxParticipantI do not consider smart a pg I consider him a combo. but even if I did I still feel Carson is better currently. I feel smart is a better prospect though.
0- Posted on: Mon, 11/25/2013 - 6:58pm #852608
Sewok15ParticipantI can see how you can say that because Carson is playing amazingly to start the year and although Smart has started great as well the #’s lean towards Carson. Watching them both though it is obvious who the better prospect is. It is really all about the size and atleticism of Smart. He can just do things that Carson can’t as you could see by the great tip in Smart had attacking the glass. Carson is the more skilled player at this point I would say but if you put them up head to head tomorrow I think Smart’s physicality would win out.
If you add the physicality and athleticism with the leadership that Smart shows on the court I would say he is not only the better prospect but also the better player right now and possibly the best player in the NCAA. Parker, Randle and some of those guys have been great and shown us why they are projected to get drafted ahead of Smart but I don’t know if anyone is doing as much to help his team win as Smart is so far. Ok. St. is pretty loaded around him with Markel Brown, Lebryan Nash and some really good athletic role players so I could see them easily making a Final Four run.

MalcolmxParticipantI agree with your whole statement and gave you a thumbs up but the only thing your wrong on is Marcus being more athletic than Jahii. Jahii has freakish speed,Quickness and bounce. Kid pulls off tomahawk dunks in games. Only think Smart has over him is strength. His potential is still higher though. He has 40 pounds and about 6 inches on Jahii.

llperezMarquette has the ball down 1 with 27 seconds left(26 on shot clock). Wild finish. Terrible offensive posseions for ASu down the stretch.

llperezMarquette ran the clock down and got a 18 foot jumper from their best shooter although it was well contested from the side. He missed and ASU gets the rebound and is fouled going to the line up 1 with 7 seconds.

llperezasu holds on. They hit 1 of 2 ft’s to go up 2. Then marqutte dribbled down the court and jahii wisely got up hard protecting against the 3, Marquette guy drives and bachynski comes over and swats it for his 7th block.
Bachynski finished with 14 on 6/8 with 11 boards and 7 blocks.
Jahii had 23 points and 5 assists and was getting wherever he wanted on the court. Much improved shooter and has the floater in the lane down.
Also shooting guard Jermaine marshall had 21 and is a very confident scorer who created his own shot and helped take pressure off carson. This team should climb into top 25 soon.

Sewok15ParticipantThis has been the best game of the night that I have watched…and there were at least 10 games on so far. Bachynski had the big block at the end to make it 7 for the game….and Raftery said he thinks he will make it at the next level but I’m not sold until he dominates like that against a team with some real size. I want to see him against Arizona in the Pac-12.
Carson looked great as well and came back big after getting in foul trouble. He is a scoring PG who makes good decisions and he reminds me of Isaiah Thomas (Of the KINGS not the Pistons). Thomas was taken 60th overall and is having a great year so far averaging 18….Carson will be a first round pick and that is saying something because 5-10 guards almost never get picked in the first round.

MUbballfanParticipantFun game to watch but obviously I would have preferred a different outcome. A lot of question marks on this overrated Marquette team. Not sure who our leader is, which rotations work best yet, etc. Hopefully we figure things out soon. Congrats to ASU. Carson and the big Russian guy are special players.
