now I’m not a Suns fan and maybe there is more to this story but I cant stand the way markieff Morris is bashing the Suns organisation on Twitter since they traded his brother without his consent or at least telling him before it went down.

Time for markieff to put his big boy pants on and start earning his multi million $$ contract. Last I checked he wasn’t qualified to be a GM so leave that to the front office!

That’s because Marcus went to Detroit, which in the East is probably a better situation than being in Phoenix at the moment.

I agree and I think it’ll only make it harder to move him.  He took less money to play with Marcus but he still needs to be a professional.   He’s showing a bad attitude which could give teams concerns about making a move for him.  He was also 2nd in techs last year with 15.  Then there is the assault case against both twins right now.

If he keeps crying on twitter and being a malcontent, I would let him sit at the end of the bench and play him only for garbage time.  If he was able to sit quietly and cash his paycheck, then I’d be working hard to trade him.  His contract is only going to get more valuable with the cap going up.  He will be a cheap pickup for someone.

If he turns out to be a locker room cancer, and a malcontent, I would buy out his full contract and ask him to never return to Phoenix.  "Markieff, you lost all your Phoenix privileges."

It may seem like a silly thing to complain about, but the Suns organization made a verbal agreement with him that the twins would essentially share a contract. Markieff probably could have gotten more money elsewhere but decided to stick with the team that would also have Marcus. The Detroit trade was a shrewd business move, not a very ethical one.

I didn’t know about that verbal agreement so you would be right it was shrewd and not ethical but if the Morris twins are only just realising the nba (or any professional sports team) is business first, ethics much later, they missed a lot of memo’s!

I can understand that Markieff has probably played on the same team as his brother since they started playing basketball as little kids.  It is completely asinine to expect to play on the same team as your brother your entire basketball career which it what it sounds like Markieff expected.  It sounds like he just needs to grow the f up.  I can’t stand hearing about thtis guy whining and moaning about the organization trading his brother when he get paid millions of dollars to put a leather ball through an iron hoop.  More stories about good guys in the NBA and less stories about Markieff crying because he can’t play with his brother anymore.

It’s all well and good that the Morris bros had a verbal agreement about playing together, but that was before the pair of them were charged with assault.

If they can’t stay out of trouble together I have no problem with the Suns getting rid of Marcus.

I hate this "verbal agreement" bull**** that people keep bringing up. Like that means anything. Do you think Orlando, Denver, Portland, or any other organization which has lost a star player over the years complains because of the stars who say "I’ll def. be resigning with so and so in the offseason", or "So and so is where I want to be, and my first option." The players do this kind of thing all the time, and so do the owners. At the end of the day the one saying that both parties use the most is the one which holds the most merit, and that’s that "this is a business."

Markeiff needs to realize that the team was at a certain point when they made those signings, and that that future as an up-and-coming team is no longer relevent, and the team is gearing up to bring in solid new playes with Knight and Chandler. PHX took a step back, not forward, and their was a lot of shake up in the past few years. Lossing IT and Dragic was terrible, and he should be looking to be a leader instead of a detracter for the young guys who are going to be getting that PT this year (Warren, Goodwin, Booker).

Personally, I would like to see him pull this stuff with Chandler around. He had the balls to call out the Knicks, so I doubt he would let MM act up and destroy the team chemistry. He’s a true leader who was basically brought in to mentor the young guns, and I think the best thing would be to allow him to do that while Markeiff plays elsewhere.

PHX already have better prospects than both the Morris brothers in Warren and Len, and with the signing of Mirza and Chandler, and PF being the easiest position in all of sports to fill, I think the Suns are ready to move on from this guy.

They’re redundant players and shouldn’t be on the same roster anyway. The Suns were nice enough to get them on the same team. Then they made a trade when it didn’t work. Be grateful for the time you had.

Trade him for a bag of chips…always thought both Morris twins were over-rated with bad attitudes. Give a shot to someone who deserves it and will appreciate it.
