llperezI’m a big west coast/ pac 12 guy but this year the conference sucked. Just hoping the 3 teams representing us can get some wins. I feel Oregon has best chance. Dana Altman is best coach in conference and they are led by a veteran pg in Peyton Pritchard. He was key 2 years ago when they made the final 4 and lost by a basket to unc.
When researching my bracket , I was trying to find a mid major that I think could shock some people. Going over basic stats like rebounding, three pt shooting and turnovers and then watching some YouTube clips to get a feel for solid guard play, bigs who can hold their own and quality of competition in their respective conferences, I think Vermont is my sleeper upset team as a 13 seed.
I saw as much of Marquette as I did any team this year and I really like them. The pg put up 25 ppg but he’s far from a one man show. The hauser brothers are both sound bigs who can stretch the floor. They have a heck of an upfield battle starting with ja Morant in rd 1, but I could see them making a deep run.
I wanted to write LSU off easily being that I hadn’t seen them play and they lost their coach and lost early in conference tourney. But damn that team is long and athletic. Physically, no one is going to bully them with exception to Zion if they were to meet up.

llperezAlso while researching teams, Lamar Peters from Mississippi state became one of my fav players to watch. Surprised his stats are so modest at12ppg and 5apg, the dude has some of the best handled I’ve seen this year. Ben Howland knows how to coach pg’s

OhCanada-ParticipantI originally had Belmont as an upset then switched it last minute to Maryland. But I forgot to save the bracket. So far thats my only wrong pick. If my bracket ends up perfect…

llperezmy bracket is up in flames lol
Belmont has to be kicking themselves, they allowed maryland to come out to start second half on 12-0 run. Then belmont took some really bad shots and had a terrible final possesion. I truly believe the better team lost that game.
The other team that really needs to kick themselves is new mexico st. They had about the worst final 20 seconds you could have. Turned down the game tying layup to go for 3. Then when the 3 point shooter got fouled on his shot he had 3 ft’s down by 2 points and proceeded to miss 2 of the ft’s. But there was still a chance with auburn knocking the ball out of bounds with a second left. Then new mexico st gets a wide open three pointer from one of their best shooters to win it and he airballs becasue he rushed it too. He had time to set his feet on the catch and take a good shot instead of falling backwards like he did.
