I can’t believe this actually went down. This is the dream scenario for a UW and 76er fan like myself!

But how much are they going to give up to get him?

I can’t believe Ainge did this.  Apparently he got both the Lakers 18 and Kings 19 but Woj is reporting protections on the picks.

Lakers only if 2-5, if Not, then will get Sacramento’s 2019 first rounder unprotected, per Woj.

That is not a lot to give up.

Love it, Fultz is the only perfect package.  Shoot, penetrate, score from all 3 levels, handle enough to play off Simmons.  Rewatch last year’s Hoop Summit, you will clearly see that Fultz is the standout player in that game due to athleticism, body, skill.

Ball – shaky skill from both hands.  Very good passer but we needed the scorer too and Ball is not the scorer Fultz is.

JJ – loved this guy’s freaky athleticism and his IQ.  Was getting worried if stuck at 3 and what the Lakers were thinking to do.  But Jackson’s shot is a question, poor FT shooting, and the NBA is all about defensive and offensive versatility.  Would’ve loved to see him in Philly, but thats okay.

Smith Jr – loved his penetration and pace, guy knew how to get to the basket.  But so does Fultz, and Fultz is the better shooter.

Monk – only question his size.  Love his fit in Philly.

      Fox – questionable shot.

      Tatum – soft Dukie.

I would’ve preferred going back to 5 and 10, taking Smith Jr. or Monk, and Markkanen or Nitlinka with 10, or been happy with Jackson, but now I’m ecstatic for Fultz.

So we traded Michael Carter Williams and the #3 for #1, !!!!

It seems like a great deal for Philly.  From Boston’s point of view I don’t fully understand it at this point.  Ainge must see Jackson being close to Fultz and/or he wanted more assets to flip in another trade.  I was really high on Fultz so seeing him go to a division rival really stinks.

Oh man!!!!!!! I was so bummed out that my favorite prospect was going to my least favorite franchise (fultz to boston). Now he’s going to my favorite team (after the heat). Its a dream scenario!

So Celtics will have Bradley, Smart, Rozier, Brown, Crowder and probably Josh Jackson? Lots of similar assests have a feeling some of them might be packaged for a big time player.

I may be wrong but does this seem more like Boston going after a star in trade, George or Butler??

Pair of Crowder or Bradley with Rozier + 3rd pick + another future 1st rounder.
They will clearly bank some picks as a result of this trade and have the 2018 Nets pick so making a play for PG13 even given contract maybe worth the risk.

It’s Fultz for #3 Lakers unprotected and kings with some sort of protection.Unless this is to acquire a star this is a terrible move from the celts. It feels like he has something up His sleeve tho. 2018 nets lakers celts 2019 celts kings grizz and clippers cant draft all those players.

So, my understanding is, Fultz, Ball & Jackson are head and shoulders above all the other prospects. And none are head and shoulders above the other two. Opinions will differ, and no one really knows which of the three will become the best pro. (Kind of reminds me of ’94, when, if I remember correctly, Glenn "Big Dog" Robinson went #1, Jason Kidd #2 and Grant Hill #3).

At any rate, if I’m Danny Ainge, I’m just thrilled to get any one of the three, because all of them would be reserves for the Celts right now — valuable reserves, to be sure, but none of them are going to be the best player at their position on the Celtics’ roster in 2018.

If I’m Danny Ainge, I’m like, "Holy shit" — well, no, I wouldn’t be like that ’cause I’d be a Mormon.

If I’m Danny Ainge, I’m like, "Golly Gee, people are going to give me *future #1 picks* to swap pick #1 for pick #3 — when there are *three equally good choices* in the top three picks and I was just going to throw a dart at the wall to decide between them?

Great deal for Boston to get two other probably high 1st rounders for the guy they really wanted and fits their team better.  I think Jackson is going to be a better pro than Fultz so kudos to Ainge for fleecing another team.

Fultz is a great get for Philly and def. fits their team better than Jackson, but that is a steep price to move up two spots especially when Jackson would have been a fine pick for them as he would have been the best wing on their roster.

The only way I’m ok with this deal is if the Lakers’ pick is top 3 protected. Which according to the usually reliable guys at libertyballers.com is now possible under the CBA.

The Lakers are going horrible next year.
