jwostrumParticipantwhy is nobody talking about larry drew in this draft other than hes a 5th year senior. ucla would have been far worse without him this year. he seems to have mastered the pg game which was what he was benched for at Carolina. I would personally take him in the first round because he showed real good pg skills this year. to me, he looked like a completely different player. also he is not to shabby on defense. thoughts everyone?

strobox88ParticipantI guess you can’t talk about him if he doesn’t enter the draft. He might try out for a summer team if he wants to give it a shot at the NBA. Getting drafted is probably totally out of the question.

CAROLINA BLUE NICKParticipantUnless his daddy and Danny Ferry come to some type of agreement. It’s not happening. I still find myself waking up in cold sweats when he use to bring the ball up for Carolina. But hey, at least his girl fine as f*ck. Maybe Eddie Murphy can cast him in the next Beverly Hills Cop movie lol

Leonard WashingtonParticipantSame here Nick, I couldn’t stand Drew when he played at UNC, still can’t stand him or his dad truthfully. To me he seems like a spoiled brat thats always had everything handed to him, so when Roy snatched that starting spot from him he couldn’t even deal with it or man up and try to earn it back for half a season. That mentallity right there should show you why he will never play in the NBA, unless his dad gives it to him.

SpacegrassParticipantRoy even kept him as the starter a month longer than he should of. I remember everybody yelling “why isn’t Kendall starting”? Roy can be loyal to a fault at times.

Taylor Gang MikeParticipantYeah Brit Murphy is dope, but yeah The Hawks will invite him to camp.. He will make the team because of his dad. He tweeted last week and said he will be in Atlanta for the next couple months, so im guessing his Pop got him a spot

jwostrumParticipantI really don’t see a problem with his game. he may not have loads of potential, but he showed his true pg skills. I believe he was either 1st or 2nd in the nation in assist to turnover ratio. ucla would not even have made the tournament with out him, he was there only pg and a good one at that in my opinion. the only thing I see holding him back is lack of great potential because he is a 5th year senior. even if hes not in round 1 he is still worth some pick in this draft considering how weak it is and the fact he can’t play in college anymore.

chris_wuzhereParticipantJust bc he will be in ATL doesn’t mean he has a spot. I’m sure that’s where his family is and he will probably be working out there. He might get a summer league invite but I doubt his dad has enough pull to get him a roster spot. His dad could also be let go after the playoffs as reported by numerous reports. So I’m sure that wont help his chances.

qDizzle32ParticipantI watched more than half of UCLA’s games last year and he is a good player, scoring is not really a part of his game but he gets other players involved well and he doesn’t turn the ball over too much. The reason why he left UNC and transferred to UCLA was because he lost his starting job to Kendall Marshall and he knew he would have gotten limited minutes as a senior so he made the right choice by transferring. I agree that he was overrated in high school but he had successful college career. The NBA is just not for him but I could see him becoming a great Euro League player down the road.

FastAndFuriousParticipantHe’s a pretty good PG tho, I just don’t think he’s NBA material right now, he can pass pretty good tho, and his assist to turnover ratio is good, he may make a team after summer league if he works on his weakness’s(Shooting)

SpacegrassParticipantI ripped on LDII and his momma Sharon when he transferred aka quit! While he is not much of a scorer he is at his best running pick and roll and that is something you don’t get to showcase as much in college. I don’t think he makes an NBA team but I wouldn’t completely dismiss it as a possibility because he is a good pick and roll PG and he has connections obviously.
I just remember his mom saying the reason Larry was better than Kendall was because of his bloodlines. And essentially said Marshall wasn’t sh!t because his parents were larger people and weren’t athletes like Larry Sr. But these Cali boys we had at UNC that transferred to UCLA were all momma’s boys. I am a momma’s boy but these dudes all had their sh!t run by their mother. I mean the Wears mom got an apartment in Chapel Hill their freshmen year to keep an eye on them? What star basketball athletes need Mommy to come cross country to tell you it’s not your fault why you don’t play? They all deserved to be at UCLA where they didn’t have to deal with any serious competition for playing time and be in their little SoCal bubble.

SeattleSuperChronicsParticipantLarry drew III is a bum. UCLA would have been better off without him. He thought it was his team LOL quit after Marshall took is spot at unc.

jwostrumParticipantnobody gives a real reason on why he should not be drafted, every one either says hes a baby, dogs his parents, and talks about his hot girlfriend. how about we talk about what his skill level is and why from that stand point he should or should not get drafted. did larry drew take all of your lunch money at somepoint? WOW!!!!!!!!!!!! give me all the negatives you want. im done with this post.

Leonard WashingtonParticipantNo leadership, no size, less than average shot, doesn’t make those around him better(i.e. unc days with all the all americans and talent he had to distribute the ball to, hell this year at UCLA he had the number 1 recruiting class).
He will probably get a shot in the Euroleague at best man and thats respectable. Call me baised because I’m a UNC fan, but I watched literally every game he played in there and watch UCLA this year to see if him and the Wear twins had made improvements, and truthfully they did not get much better. Say what you want about LD3’s assist avg this year but the level of competition he played against this year was nothing like what he played against while at UNC.
