Wow this looks like a very nice pickup for the clippers. For those who do not know, it has been confirmed that the clippers acquire lance for barnes and hawes. I have absolutely no idea why the hornets want hawes but im loving it as a clippers fan. Hopefully paul can get lance back on track and teach him some stuff to raise his bball iq. For a team that desperately needs a playmaking guard off the bench they certainly got it. I defnintely dont see crawford coming back.

If people in L.A. think swaggy p is a star they are going to love them some Lance.

This is a great move for the clips. Pretty low risk high reward in that if it doesn’t work out they can let him go after one year, but if he returns to form they grab a strong asset at only age 24 who’s had experience going deep into the playoffs. The West is scary good!!!

It’s not that it’s a bad move for the Hornets, I just don’t believe it takes us anywhere. Even worse… does this mean MKG goes to the bench now? How does this affect his development? What about our loaded frontcourt: Jefferson, Biyombo, Zeller, Vonleh, Hawes, Williams?

The issue with this team is that so many players blend in and not too many stand out. We’re mediocre-to-good across the board – so I’m thinking we need to package some pieces together for a star to take the load off Kemba & Al.

Not to trade our wildcard for more pieces to blend in.

(example: Lance, Vonleh, anyone not named Kemba or Al packaged together for a HIGH pick or young star)

Doesn’t really make sense for the Hornets unless you consider it a straight-up chemistry trade.

Lance clearly was messing with their identity, plus it makes room for Hairston and whoever they draft to have a bigger role.

I don’t think Barnes will start, he’s going to come off the bench.

I like this move for both parties.

As shown with the Pacers, Stephenson has star potential. However, he is coming off of an extremely inefficient/poor season and really hurt the Hornets’ chemistry. But he is moving into a great situation with the Clippers. He’s extremely talented on both ends, and if CP3 and Doc can’t sort him out, then he’s done.

The Hornets needed to get rid of Stephenson. He was a cancer in their locker room. I think Hawes could be a nice backup big who provides an offensive punch, however is a liability on the defensive end. Barnes will come right in and provide length and defense off the bench.

If I’m DeAndre, I’m outta there. He was already unhappy with the amount of touches he was getting and now he’s going to get even less and now they have no one to play the three. Such a confusing move in my opinion.

good move for the clippers…lance will bring the crazy and toughness they lacked!! loaded backcourt cp3,crawford,lance,redick and rivers(if he returns)….

they’ll address their starting sf  and bench issues in free agency…..

Too many shooting guards for the Clips: JJ Reddick, Lance, and Jamal Crawford, you can probably put Austin Rivers there too as a glorified combo guard.

    Lance is also ball dominant.

    I don’t know.

They REALLY need a very solid small forward now.  An oversized 2 way guy who can shoot.  But, how many of those guys are there?

    Eh…

    What I would do?

Trade Chris Paul and two future 2nd round picks to the Hawks for Jeff Teague, DeMarre Carroll, Shelvin Mack, Pero Antic, the 15th pick, and the 50th pick.

    Starters:

    PG: Jeff Teague

    SG: Lance Stephenson

    SF: DeMarre Carroll

    PF: Blake Griffin

    C:  DeAndre Jordan

    Bench:

    PG: Shelvin Mack/Austin Rivers

    SG: Jamal Crawford/JJ Reddick

SF: JP Tokoto (hopefully he falls to 50)

    PF: Bobby Portis (15th pick)

C:  Big Baby Glenn Davis/Pero Antic (big man with 3 point range)

     ^^^

If the Hawks want more I would throw in Glenn Big Baby Davis and some cash.  In return I would also ask for the 59th pick.

If JP Tokoto is off the board at 50, then I try to get Andrew Harrison if he is still there.  I try to pair him with Aaron Harrison (59).

If all those three guys are off the board, I still try to get a small forward at 50.  At 59, go after any other spot other than shooting guard or power forward.  A shot blocker for center depth? Even a Euro Stash guy.
Also consider taking a couple of Michigan State guys: Travice Trice as a shooter and ball handler and then Branden Dawson as a forward role player.

Then go out and sign a cheap 3rd string shot blocker.
