LaMelo Ball back in HS

If you haven’t heard by now LaMelo will be attending a prep school in Ohio and will also be finishing up his education as well. The school that he plays for is not allowed to play against public high schools and is only allowed to play against other prep schools. Josh Jackson played for a similar type of school in high school, Prolific Prep in Napa, CA and he was an ESPN 100 player and a McDonalds All-American. I already know that it’s too late for LaMelo to redeem his college eligibility but does anybody on here know if he would be eligible to be ranked in the ESPN 100 again or if he could still be a McDonald’s All-American?

This is a good move by LaMelo

This is a good move by LaMelo given the circumstances. He needs to be playing serious basketball. This is a much better move than the some B League team in Lithuania, the JBA or whatever hairbrain idea LaVar was going to cook up next.

Seems like LaVar has been really quiet lately.

Jalen Lecque 5th year senior and ranked

Good question...I think he could be ranked. Jalen Lecque goes to a prep school and he's ranked. I read that Jalen could enter the 2019 NBA Draft cuz technically he's a fifth year senior www.cbssports.com/college-basketball/news/highly-touted-nc-state-recruit-jalen-lecque-contemplating-entering-2019-nba-draft/ And what about dude drafted by the Trailblazers this past year, wasn't he a fifth year senior? I don't see Melo playing in the McDonalds game, could see him playing in the Jordan Classic.

Also Melo school is playing good competition, they Play Oak Hill Academy and a couple of other basketball powerhouses..this is good for him.

I'm surprised LaMelo can even go back to HS. I guess Lavar isn't a total fool as he allowed himself a backdoor if his idiotic plan completely failed.

This is my take on both Gelo and Melo...

By both of these two Guys doing this is is either saying the following:

JBA is not Finacially viable(Running in the red vs making money)So honestly wouldn't be surprised if it was only for one year...

Agent has Told Lavar for your boys to make the NBA they need to do this.

Lamelo needs to prove he can dominate his peers that people may now have above him as he is essentially out of site out of scouts minds...See Gelo's time in Lithunia as example...Even if he is better or worse than them. They may also be hoping for a 1 and done rule to be gone by the time he finishes Highschool...But worst case Gleague get "elite prospect Money'' then try go pro after 1 year...

Gelo Probably reliased once he got over the shock of not getting drafted(that Lavar hyped him up to believing he would get) this is path if he even wants to sniff the NBA and get more than JBA was offering..Going to be honest seems like the boy just doesn't take responsibilty for his screw ups though...

Scouts weren't taking JBA serious meaning no looks at Lavars boys... Especially as Lavars 5 mins of fame is drying up finally..

and finally:

It probably gives their T.V show some more material..Gelo's G-league quest and Lamelo's Highschool year...

The kind of Shocking thing is this though: People are Saying Lamelo never received Money from Playing pro/JBA or may have been to little meaning supposed College eligibility is still there for him slightly dubious but weirder things have happened...

But didn't Melo sign with an agent? And he also signed a pro contract on the tv show, And he had his own shoe...I think these factors keep him out of college. He could do prep school for two years. Looking forward with his matchup against Oak Hill Academy, him vs Cole Anthony, hopefully it's televised.

Signed with agent maybe not...

Not fully saying he is legit eligible still or anything as I don't know full NCAA rules in regards to this.

However the terms to the contract were never disclosed so for all we know there may have been clauses that could get around this: For example no moneytary gains family gets paid not Melo or maybe under a certain amount keeps you eligible(not sure exact what NCAA terms are on this),Represents family not Melo think of it this way you get a lawyer to read it and you represent yourself and ask for insert terms here..

He could do the two years if under a good coach that may help him out big time...Personally he needs to have someone take him aside and help him mature as he won't be allowed to sulk at the next level or say I'm not getting x reason I ain't gonna play and will sit this out..
