In all this talk about Anthony Davis requesting a trade, one thing is semmingly getting lost.

Do people see this Lakers young core?

    Ball ( age 21), Ingram ( age 21), Kuzma ( age 23), Zubac ( age 21)

This is the best young core in the league.  all four have shown flashes of all star and their is talk to trade 3/4 or all four for one player? Lebron, Davis, and Michael Beasley? that’s the team you want?

Do people not realize the Warriors exist? What trade are you going to make to become better than 5 hall of famers in their prime?

The Lakers are in great position for the next 5 years especially considering free agents want to come to LA. Lebron is 34 and just showed his first sign of aging by getting injured; your not going to be able to put together a team to compete with the Warriors before it’s too late.

Side note: I was negged out of oblivion last year for mentioning Jason Tatum averging 14 ppg and is probably the most overrated player the league, so i expect people to say the Celtics have a better young core because of one person who’s not in the discussion for the all star team in the East. but Brandon Ingram is putting up nearly identical offensive numbers as Tatum and is only 6 months older, why is one dissapointment and the other a "great asset"

I thought d angelo russell would be better than lonzo ball.  Ingram – i thought would be a 20+ppg player. Always thought zubac and Zizic (cavs) would be able to make it at an NBA level, aswell as Josh Hart.

That is decent young core and I think the same way.  If they give up 4 or 5 of these players you are virtually left with Davis and LBJ and not much else.

Davis is injury prone – he can go down at anytime.  Lebron’s miles are adding up also.

Even if they don’t get Anthony Davis, they have a good young group for next season

Is it the best young core in the League?

    No!

The 76ers have 2 Franchise Players under 25 years, Fultz is still a potential player, Shamet has produce from Day 1 and looks like Reddick’s replacement barring a trade or Free Agent signing over the next few months, Zaire Smith And Furkan Korkmaz have roles in this league too, throw in Jonah Bolden and Shake Milton if I you wanna look through deeper (They’ll all have roles in the league for a decade, some as role players, others as starters)

The Lakers core simply doesn’t excite me because they’re not a Core

Ingram and Ball are trade Bait (Lonzo seems to always be injured and Ingram is too inconsistent to ever be trusted to lead a Franchise, Kuzma is a solid scorer who’ll get paid more than he can contribute to a Wins column, Hart and Zubac are great role players too, Zubac is intriguing because of the development of guys like Jokic and Nurkic…Hart is my favorite player in the group as far as championship intangibles are concerned and he’ll max out as a Danny Green type(which is very good considering) There are also several other teams with stellar cores The Suns-Booker, Ayton, Bridges, Jackson, Bender and whoever they draft is vastly superior to the Lakers core The Celtics-Tatum, Brown and Kyrie all 25 or younger, Rozier and Smart under 25, Williams and Yubesela still developing, whoever they draft, come in Lakers fans, that’s a better core than the one out in LA The Nuggets-Jokic, Murray, Harris and Porter Jr. come on Lakers fans The Jazz-Mitchell, Gobert, Favors, Exum, Grayson, Rubio all still very young There are probably a couple more young cores I could break down and project to be better than the Lakers (Magic, Kings, Nets) The media would love to push the narrative that The Lakers have the best collection of young players and assets in the NBA while they also clearly show how far away they are from being All Star Level Winners thus why The Lakers want to trade most of them in the hopes to land another Star They dont have Has many Draft Picks and All Star Level prospects than at least 6-10 Teams (76ers, Celtics, Kings, Nuggets, Suns, Hawks, Jazz, Nets, Magic, Mavericks)

What they have is leverage via Media and Player Management, it may also benefit the league financially

Lots to keep our eyes on

They are in a funny position.

LeBron, AD, Kuzma, and Ingram are all power forwards to me, even if Ingram is often a SG. LeBron doesn’t hustle enough to play SF. Not even close. If you’re going positionless, Kuzma plays best with LeBron. Followed by Ball (though Ingram has played really well off the ball the last few games… finally).

If you had to keep someone, you keep Ball. Even though he can’t shoot. He was getting going pretty well without LeBron. He needs the ball on his hands, LeBron needs to play off the ball more. Especially if the get AD.

You have to be delusional to think that Lakers have a better young core than Denver (Jokic-23, Murray-21, Harris-24) or Philadelphia. I’d probably also take the Timberwolves, Bulls, Celtics and Suns. I’d consider the Knicks and the Suns. There’s probably teams I’m missing too. Point is, there are a number of teams that have been bad for a while and have had a number of high draft picks. None of the Lakers picks have really been very succesful yet (though obviously it’s early).

    Zubac? Are you kidding me?
