This is all dependent on whether Lavine is available at 10, but if I’m the Lakers I trade the 7th pick to the 76ers for the 10th pick and Tony Wroten.  I’m not sure if the 76ers would do this but I think it’s a good trade for both sides.  Philly can use the 7th pick as leverage to get Wiggins if that’s what they want to do and the Lakers get two promising young players.

Wroten averaged 18 points 5 assists and 5 rebounds as a starter at only 21 years old so I think he would be a steal for them.  Lavine is the smartest pick for them, in my opinion.  He has crazy potential and I think Kobe would get the best out of him.  If Philly keeps the 7th pick they can grab Randle or Vonleh, either of which would be a terrific pairing for Noel.  Gordon may also be available as well.  This would all be a mute point if Charlotte picks Lavine at 9 though.

I’d do that from the Sixers perspective for sure if there is someone at 7 that they really like. It’s probably 50-50 that Julius Randle lasts to 7 and less than 10 percent that he lasts to 10.

Tony Wrotens stats as a starter on the 76ers are not a good indication of what he is really capable of.  Somebody has to get the stats on the bad teams.  Kendall Marshall averaged almost 10 assists as a starter, but again… somebody has to get the stats.

So from the Lakers perspective I would want more than Tony Wroten and number 10 for the 7th pick.

If Aaron Gordon truly is a lock at number 6 to Boston, then the Lakers will surely have the option to choose between 2 of the 3 Randle, Smart or Vonleh.  I wouldn’t take that package from the 76ers over one of those guys.  I personally like Randle and Smart better than Vonleh.

It will also be important for the Lakers to use their cap space in helping another team to free up theirs.  Either taking on Boozer and one of the first round picks, most likely 19 from the Bulls (Yes Bulls fans always neg when someone suggests their team include a first rounder as opposed to paying 16 mil for a guy to play on another team.) Or target Asik/Lin from the Rockets.

A lineup of Lin, Bryant, Anon SF, Randle, Asik isn’t all that bad.  And it saves their capspace for the important summer of 2015.

Sadly, as a Sixers fan, I agree with you that it is probably not enough to trade Wroten and 10 for 7. The Lakers don’t have a second round pick this year and we are lousy with them. I wonder if the Lakers would be interested in getting one of them as well?

I would prefer to include Thad instead of Wroten, but only because the feeling is Thad doesn’t have much trade value and
only if Randle is there @ 7.

Am I wrong about Thad’s trade value ?

He has good trade value still. He doesn’t have a horrible contract and he is only 25-26 years old and is a good player and teammate.

From the Sixers’ perspective I would trade him to the Lakers to move to 7 though.

If I’m the Lakers I want Wroten plus Young rather than Thad alone.  I think that’d be a great trade.  I admit that my original trade may sell the Lakers a bit short since Wroten still isn’t a sure thing.

Could the Lakers say Steve Nash and 7 (who will then be  bought out or retire, gives Lakers 10 mii more cap space) to the 76er’s for Thad Young, 10, and 32 to the Lakers.

Lakers then would only have Kobe’s contract and Sacre in contract.  Lakers end up drafting Saric and Semaj if he falls.  Plus would have a ton of cap room to go after a collection of Melo, Monroe, Bledsoe, Deng, and other top FA’s and could end up being decently competitive.   A potential lineup of Lowry, Kobe, Saric, Young, Monroe.  With a few role players off the bench.

I think I’d rather go with someone else rather than Saric unless they are 10000% sure he’s coming over (I wouldn’t trust his claim), but that’s a great idea overall.  I’m a huge advocate of a Monroe signing.  I actually tink Gary Harris would be a solid pick here since Kobe may be better suited at SF these days like MJ during his Wizard years.

Taking on Nash, and giving  Thad  AND 10 & 32 seems a bit rich to move up three spots…..but I think there could be something here.

Normally I think 98% of the trades proposed here are rubbish, but I still see the Sixers sitting free agency out again this year, so I think there could be something to Philly willing to be taking on a bad deal to move up a bit.

The most I would give to move from 10 to 7 is Thad and also take back Nash, no Wroten or pick 32.There will be good players to choose from @ 10.

LETS FIND TALENT IN FA (WE WANT DURANT IN 2016-2017)

1.- sign pau gasol to a 9-10 million contract like duncan for 2 years (2014-2015, 2015-2016)

2.- draft the best prospect with upside and let him learn of the veterans, also he will play without a lot of pressure (randle, vonleh or lavine)

3.- sign paul pierce to a 3-3.5 million contract like allen for 2 year (2014-2015, 2015-2016)

4.- sign the bench and role players (cheap like spurs or heat) based on needs: emeka okafor, jodie meeks, shawn marion, jordan hill, jerryd bayless, shaun livingston, vince carter, nick young, steve blake, ramon sessions, channing frye, luol deng etc.

    pg: nash/marshall

    sg: kobe

    sf: pierce/bazemore

pf: randle or vonleh (i like lavine but in this scenario a pf is a better fit)

    c: gasol/sacre

and fill the bench with the fa pool list on top.

The Lakers screwed themselves pretty badly with the Kobe Bryant contract.  Why pay somebody for what they did in the past?  The Lakers need draft picks.
