So what was the point of having an extra spot if they aren’t signing anybody? 23 games left in the season, if you are going to add someone might aswell do it sooner rather than later. That team still doesn’t have alot of chemistry because of all of the injuries, but you gotta try something right ?

Missed out on who they wanted and now waiting to see who else is bought out before the March 1st deadline to be playoff eligible.  They are hoping Deandre Jordan is bought out from what I have read.

I read the same. They won’t sign anyone unitl they find out what happens with DJ. I’ve also read that the Kicks value DJ cuz of his relationship with KD and thinks they would help them land him.

Walton should have been axed a long time ago, but they continually say he will finish out the season and at this point why not they are not making the playoffs.

Before Lebron got injured Lakers were really gelling. Then he goes down they start losing Ball and Rondo go down and now after all the trade rumours you can just tell the sense of urgency and focus is no longer there. Hard to motivate a group of young players that know they wouldve been gone if the other team was interested/could be gone in a few months. What a disaster year for LA.

Hard to believe, but this team really misses Lonzo Ball. Despite the lack of shooting on their roster, for the most part scoring has not been a problem at all for them. It’s hard to say they are doing much wrong on offense. However, the problems have occurred on the other side of the court.

It’s no coincidence that the stretches of the season where the lakers have played their best basketball have been the stretches where they have defended the best. And so much of that starts with ball. His ability to pressure the ball and opposing pgs as the first line of defense is so valuable to this team and they don’t have another player who can replicate that on their roster. Without ball, they have gone back to just trying to outscore teams to win, and it’s clearly not working.

I’m not saying a coaching change isn’t necessary, but I’m also not sure how much it will help at this point either. This team just needs to defend a hell of a lot better to win, and all the numbers seem to suggest that they are incapable of doing that without a healthy Lonzo. If he isn’t able to come back and be close to 100% soon, I’d have a very hard time being optimistic about their playoff chances.
