knicks82ParticipantI think the lakers could go for Drew Gooden or go cheap with Tim Thomas. Thomas isnt as athletic as he used to be, but would still be good coming off the bench.

doubledribblerParticipantGooden would probably be the best option left for them, but they would still lose a lot of what Odom provided. If Odom is gone, that is probably going to mean bigger minutes for Walton, which isn’t always a good thing. The Lakers really need to try to address this point guard situation no matter what. I don’t think they’ll get rid of Fisher, but they need to find a younger more dynamic guy…Raymond Felton anybody? Sign and trade with Charlotte for Farmar maybe?

jojososaParticipantReports have been heard that ron artest is reaching out to lamar odom
0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/19/2009 - 6:36am #184319
Knicksboy34ParticipantSign and trade with Charlotte for Farmar maybe?- No
If they lose out on Odom, they will not win a title

STEVEDOT2ParticipantHakim Warrick
could slide to small foward and play power forward and be really effective ala
Odomplus he can give the bench alot of energy ala ex laker RonnyTuraif

Knicksboy34ParticipantWarrick cannot match Odom’s passing and rebounding
plus you lose alot of playoff experience
0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/19/2009 - 7:25am #184336
BasketballGuru24ParticipantDrew Gooden…….But if Odom Leaves Morrision Will Be Getting More Minutes, and i think he will improve
0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/19/2009 - 7:27am #184339
Knicksboy34ParticipantHow are you gonna add Drew Gooden or Hakim Warrick?
Morrison is a good shooter, below average defender and I don’t think he can replace Odom on the boards and passing
0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/19/2009 - 7:29am #184341
STEVEDOT2Participantwarrick was a free agent last time i checked and he would leave the grizz in a heart beat to have a solid role for champiosnhip contending team
who wouldnt?
0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/19/2009 - 7:32am #184344
Knicksboy34Participantwith what money?
0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/19/2009 - 7:32am #184345
The8thDeadlySinParticipantIf all Odom could do was shoot, then Morrison could replace him, however, he did so much more. Morrison is not the answer. Honestly, there arent many players that can provide what Odom can. IMO he is a top three SF in the West. Soo, they Lakers are just out of luck if the dont bring him back.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/19/2009 - 7:32am #184347
STEVEDOT2Participantof course hes not going to match odoms passing…but he will be good of the bench he hasnt proved his self to be better then odom but he will do if odom leaves
0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/19/2009 - 7:33am #184348
STEVEDOT2Participantif they got money to sign odom they got money to sign warrick…..
0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/19/2009 - 7:34am #184349
BasketballGuru24ParticipantWe never said anyone is going to replace odom…….but you need someone to add to the team, but i doubt odom will leave…..he even apologized to jerry buss about not responding to his deals and wants another one…….odom wants to win …. and wants to stay on a winning team for a while
0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/19/2009 - 7:35am #184350
Knicksboy34ParticipantOdom has bird rights.
And you used the MLE on Artest
0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/19/2009 - 7:40am #184353
STEVEDOT2Participantwhere theres a will theres a way…..and if odom leaves he not getting a ship next year and might be the dumbest move of his career because the heat getting odom doesnt meen wade will stay not at all and juss because odom is there doesnt mean it will brinng in big name players in free agency….wade loves the heat but if they aint looking to contend then hes leaving
0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/19/2009 - 7:42am #184354
Knicksboy34ParticipantBut if Odom Leaves….your not getting a title either.
If Miami gets Boozer, Odom may go to Miami
0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/19/2009 - 7:46am #184357
Stanford hoopsParticipantnot sure who they would pick up..it would be alot harder to win the title without him but could still be done if no one gets hurt( always a hard thing to do for th lakers it seems. does anyone have espn in pass?..they have a article about lebron not going to ny and carmelo may be the next target
0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/19/2009 - 7:50am #184359
Knicksboy34ParticipantThe Lakers may have to find a player to do a S&T
The Knicks will get someone in 2010 or 2011. Melo was NY born and he comes back to Brooklyn alot.

Stanford hoopsParticipanttru..id like to see him with the wiz since he grew up in maryland and is always there during the summer and sometimes during the season

Meditated StatesParticipantMatt Barnes or Warrick would be good pick ups.

Knicksboy34ParticipantHow are you gonna sing these players? With what money?
0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/19/2009 - 11:19am #184517
llperezIf they lose Odom, they will sign somone on the cheap for like 2-4 mill. There have been some real good suggestions on here with guys like Warrick and Gooden. Obvioulsy none of these guys replaces what Odom broughtto the table, but the Lakers could still win it all. Eventually Bynum is gonna need to get 30+ minutes a game. Gasol and Artest make a great forward combo. And Walton, Morrison, and Powell can all contribute off the bench. They just need one more guy to play 15-20 minutes and rebound. The only real risk is if Bynum gets injured again.

STEVEDOT2Participantwere talking bout the lakers if they need to find some money to sign a player ti go back to the ship they will get it
kobe bryant is a house hold name so is the los angles lakers who doesnt know of this team….we will get sponser owners will put up more money if they see were losing out on free agency, players will be traded first ound picks secound round picks, we got artest for a reason…….we got pau for a reason to nothing is impossible for the lakers nobody had lakers going to the ship 08
ps los angles is a big stage if you perform well here you can have a chance to cash in later down the road {ARIZA}
so them signing a player for now for cheap price
may help a player get a ring and raise his worth again perfet example is {ariza}

Knicksboy34Participantwe got artest for a reason…….we got pau for a reason
you lost me there….what does that mean?
and Ariza got traded to LA.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/20/2009 - 10:58am #185346
STEVEDOT2ParticipantWE GOT ARTEST THIS YEAR AND PAU LAST YEAR FOR 1 REASON TO COMPETE FOR THE SHIP…………..
IF ODOM LEAVES U THINK THE MANAGMENT WILL LET US MISS OUT ON A CHANCE TO GO BACK TO THE SHIP SINCE WE BEEN TO THE FINALS 2 YEARS IN A ROW..PLUS KOBES GETTING OLDER……..WILL WELL GET A PLAYYER CAPABLE OF FILLINGS ODOMS ROLE….LAKERS HAVE THE SECOND MOST CHAMPINSHIPS OF ALL TIME WERE A FRANCHISE WITH GOOD MANAGMENT I TRUST THE LAKERS WILL GET SOMBODY IF ODOM LEAVES TO PUT US BACK IN THE FINNALS

STEVEDOT2ParticipantI KNO ARIZA GOT TRADED…BUT IF IT WASNT FOR HIS PERFORMANCE THIS SEASON WOULD HE BE GETTING PAID WHAT HE GETS NOW?? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO …………IF RONDO PERFORMED TEH WAY HE DOES ON THE KINGS HE A BE LOOK AT AS A GOOD PLAYERS ON ABAD TEAM BUT HES IN BOSTON………. BOSTON CELTICS ARE A HOUSE HOLD NAME NOW HES A GOOD PLAYER ON A GREAT TEAM RONDO WORTH IS HIGH BECAUSE HE ON THE CELTICS A WINNING,POPULAR TEAM…..YOU EVER WONDER WHY CERTAIN PLYERS DONT PLAY FOR CERTAIN TEAMS BECUASE OF THEIR MARKET….PPL TALK ABOUT LEBRON GOING TO NEW YORK BECAUSE ITS A BIIIIIIIG MARKET THERE AND IF HE PERFORMS WELL THERE HE WILL HET EVEN MORE MONEY OFF OF SIDE DEAL AND WOULD BE ON TV MORE…WITH ALL THE SHOWS THATE ARE IN NEW YORK…IT A BE EASY TO BE FEATURED ON A SHOW WHEN YOU LIVE IN THE CITY OR NEAR BY YOUR SO CLOSE YOU CAN MAKE A SPEACIAL APPERNACE MAKING MORE FANS…..MAKING HIS VAULE EVEN HIGHER
IF HE GOES TO NEW YORK ….YOU KNOW HOW MANY JERSEYS LEBRON A SELL? ITS ALL ABOUT MARKET FOR PLAYERS WHO ARENT IN THE SPOTLIGHT …SO ITS NOT GOING TO BE THAT HARD TO FILL A VOID{SPOT ON BENCH} ITS JUSS GOING TO BE HARD REPLACING THINGS ODOM DOES0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/20/2009 - 11:29am #185374
Knicksboy34ParticipantIMO, it will be hard to find a player who can replace Odom’s overall shooting, rebounding and passing. After Odom, noone in FA is on his level
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/20/2009 - 11:47am #185380
llperezYeah, no one out there is going to replace what he brought to the table. But If he leaves, that just means Bynum, Artest, Walton, and Powell will get some more minutes. The Lakes would just need to sign another big to help off the bench and be ready in case Bynum goes down with another injury. Losing Odom really hurts, but I don’t think it will be as bad as people make it out to be. The Lakes have the people to step up. Plus, Bynum needs to start becoming more of a focal point now that he’s 21 and entering his 5th season.
