This site has Kyrie Irving at #4..

Does anyone feel this is to low for him after his great start to the season?

I will post my feelings after a few people do.

I would say top 2 with him and Perry, Barnes hasn’t shown enough and I think some scouts will be turned off by Sullingers athleticism and size so I say he should be at the lowest #2.

But than again, it is early to be making a Mock Draft, which I think is just a slight gauge of who teams would pick at this point. I ranked Kyrie as the best prospect outside of Harrison Barnes going into the season, and at this point he has played better than any freshman in the nation, on the nations best team. After his quick start, many are even saying he should be taken first overall. I still want to see more before I make that decision, but if he continues his strong season, it is not out of the question. I still think he, Barnes and Perry Jones are more than likely the top 3 in the draft, with Sullinger, Terrence Jones, Donatas Motiejunas (who I hear is doing quite well for Bennetton in Italy) and Brandon Knight probably around there as well. Things do tend to change drastically over the season though, but Irving does look like a lock for the top 3, as the Chris Paul comparisons will beckon teams to take him there rather than at 4 where Chris Paul actually fell.

The draft order always changes somethings, but i feel he is currently a top 3 pick.  Reminds of Chris Paul so much.

In a draft with so few sure things, I agree, Irving should be higher. To me he’s perfect, not "perfect" in terms of being the ultimate basketball player, but he really has no flaws, he’s anchoring the best team in the country, and he won’t turn 19 till march.

If the Clippers have the number one pick it has to be Irving. First why take a small forward and stunt Aminu’s growth who I do think can be a solid role player and maybe third option in the future, I dont like him as much as the guy from the other post but good enough. Second no reason to take another big man with Blake and Jordan they are set for the future you don’t need another number one overall big man down there. Finally why mess with Blakes development. He is already, in my eyes, top three big man in the NBA on his way to being the best player in a year or so. Why bring in someone else who would need a lot of shots and change to offense to a more wing oriented one instead of someone who can make plays for Blake and run the team without needing to be the first option?

Yea it is pretty early. And scouts already knew Sullinger wasn’t explosive, this may be the first time fans have really saw him but not scouts. Skills is more important then being a good athlete anyway. I’m sure teams dont wanna make another Blair/Love mistake

Plus this sites mock draft is the staffs opinion right now mixed in with a Lil info from a scout or two imo. Watch it more at the end of the season when Scouts really know who they THINK will be picked high and share that info with this site( i say think because even scouts dont know because the GM’s like to keep those things to themselves)

not being explosive isn’t that big of a deal on offense, but on defense when going up against those explosive guys that’s where it really matters, that’s why Love is good offensively and not good defensively, and I see something similar with Sullinger. Defense also wins championships, that’s why I would stay away from a guy like Sullinger.

It helps but its not something you need to be a good defender

On top of all that Sullinger is already views by scouts and college basketball as a good defender. He does the main things you need to be a good defender( moving your feet). Doesn’t matter how high you jump matters more about youre lateral quickness which sulinger has and has shown this season especially against a very good small forward in Chris Singlton.

I think right now,Irving is the safest pick if you’re picking number 1..Barnes,Sullinger,Katner and the Jones boys all have question marks about their game….Terrance has questions about which position he will play and can he hit outside shots consistently…Perry has a all around game,but doesn’t seem like a 1st option type of guy..Barnes isnt ready and should remain in school another year….Sullinger has question marks..But if you can play,you can play and Sully is a baller…Katner has issues with his knee and will sitting out so long affect his game? Irving is the only that has shown he can be a 1st option and also make his teammates better….

I wouldnt pick Sullinger at Number 1. Pretty much im either picking Kyrie,Barnes(if he wakes up). Kyrie is as close to can’t miss so far

unless something drastic happens, I can’t see how Kyrie isn’t #1, I mean so many teams need a PG: Toronto,Detroit,Sacramento, Clippers, Minnesota(maybe).

Wolves…. have Rubio and Flynn who are each recnt lottery picks!

Pistons…… seem like they want Stuckey to be there PG of the future. I think he would be better off as a SG.

Sacremento…. also seems to think Evans is fine a PG. I feel like Stuckey he is better off as a SG.

Clippers… Have Bledsoe who has been playing very solid. if they move Davis I could see Irving much more liekly in there future.

Raptors.. they need PG…. no if and or buts!

It doesn’t matter where Kyrie Irving is selected as far as picks it matters what team he goes to because if he goes to the right team in need of a starting point guard we are talking possible rookie of the year.  I think he deserves first pick but in all likeleness he ends up not getting picked there because someoen drafting for potential.  As we all remember Chris Paul as the fourth selection won roookie of the year and is one of the top 2 pgs in the league if not the top. The results of someoenes career is better determined by wich team they go to for instance Michael Beasley he ends up going second to the heat and because of it his growth was stunted he had to go from an alpha scorer to a sidekick wich he hasn’t been for probably most of his life.  Now he playes for Minnesota and hes putting up good numbers.  While Derrick Rose goes to Chicago and lights it up and wins rookie of the year.  Who’s to say that if Beasley went to Chicago he wouldn’t be considered rookie of the year that year or upcoming superstar.  Same can be said with the Durant going number two when him and Oden came out pairing Durant with Roy might not have worked because some people are just born to be scorers and when they go from first options to second options you take there most valuable skill away and they look like less of a player than they really are.  That being said I hope Irving goes to a team were he gets freedom to run the team like a Chris Paul or Steve Nash.  As long as Larry Brown or one of these triangle offense teams dont get a hold of him he will have a great career.

Many people havent been signed to extensions because they want to see what the value on the market is for them. Why overpay if dont neeed too. Jeff Green is another guy that Thunder have kept around even though many people here think he should be moved for a big man. The are doign this to see his value in the league.

Sacramento- "seems to think Evans is a fine PG"… Uhhh Evans is playing SG, so your argument is not valid. Just look at their starting lineups. They either use Head or Udrih at starting point and repeatedly use Evans as a SG. 

And actually the Pistons are not sold on Stuckey at the point. They have been trying  to find a more true PG. I would say that the Pistons are targeting either Irving or Knight. The reason why Stuckey is playing the point because he is the best they got. (Ben Gordon can’t play the point that would be a disaster)

In the Kings games i have watched Evans maybe listed as the Pg but in many situations he is the one running plays and starting the offense. Just because he is not listed there doesnt mean anything……I also feel Evans would be better off the ball at some points. I dont think he is a true PG myself. I think the kings would really look at a SF for the future.

I have not heard anything legit really saying the Pistons are looking to move Stuckey. If you have an article that would be cool to see. I agree with you I dont think he is a PG myself.

Head has played 15 minutes total in the last 3 games so he doesnt really seem to be having a huge impact. WE all know Udrih is a backup in this league.

Pistons havent even resigned stuckey because they arent sold on him and know he’s not the future point guard of the team, the pistons are made of 6th men(stuckey, BG, Rip, Charlie V, Maxiell)

I dont think it’ll matter until the lottery because this year’s draft will be one of particular needs. I don’t see a Blake Griffin, John Wall or Derrick Rose type who will force a team to find a way to fit them.

i like bledsoe but lets be real, would you rather have Kyrie or bledsoe?..Twolves like rubio but no one knows how he will adjust to The American style game. i would pick Kyrie over him as well. Hopefully teams wont think like Dumars did when he passed on Melo because he had Prince.

Reports out of Det is they dont view Stucky as there pg off the future, they think he’s more of a combo now and from watching him i agree
