Bryant24ParticipantIm really high on this guy i know im going to see him play this year especially at the unc vs duke game this upcoming season. He has been compared to Isiah Thomas,a better shooting Rajon Rondo, and Chris Paul who does he remind you guys of the most? He is more athletic than you think even though im a unc fan i cant wait to see him play. Best point guard in the class of 2010? If you looking for a pg in the 2011 draft which one would you guys take? kyrie irving, josh selby, brandon knight, cory joseph?

RICO 1981ParticipantI am kind of impartial toward Josh Selby because I live in the D.C. area and I got to watch him play a couple of times in B-More. But everytime I get to see Kyrie Irving I am more impressed by his control and over all pure PG skills I think Selby is a higher level athlete I would take Irving first to run my team.

yaboymalParticipanttotally agree with you bro josh is a freak athlete and a great scorer but i would pick kyrie to run my team anyday he reminds me of chris paul so much and hes and underrated defender i think if josh did two years at kansas he would have a good rookie year in the league he might need that extra year to learn how to run a team wekk see tho i cant wait until college bball starts

the I in winParticipantEvery time I watch Irving he stands out over everyone else. He may not be the best player that game and he might not blow you away with his stats but how easily he controls the game on and up tempo or slow tempo team. He might be the next PG to join that group of top PGs that nobody has the same order of who is better.

JNixonParticipantHe plays so much like Chris Paul did when he was a HS Sr. it’s not even funny. I think that’s a good comparison for him. I think he’ll have good numbers, and I don’t think Duke will miss a beat with him running the team and Scheyer being gone.
I expect him to be a 14 and 6 apg guy as a Fr next year, and I thnik he’ll take care of the ball reasonably well and score efficiently. He’s definitely got a bright future. He should be one of the better PG’s in college next year and he could develop into a top NBA PG rather early in his career.

stanford hoopsbrandon knight. who was ranked higher then him for 4 years until the allstar game circut(open gym basically) at the end of the year which in no way a player can just leap frog you talent wise. he is good and is the second best pg in his class no doubt but because of the McDonald’s game and jordan game etc the hype machine has taken control(check out the post about him and bknight before the mcdonalds game and then after….obvious)

BallerzD30ParticipantGreat point guard and floor general. He can control a game’s tempo with ease. I would choose him over any guard in the draft. But the thing is why are they now underrating Brandon Knight for a few bad games… brought down to top 14 in draft stock… Josh Shelby I think cannot be a point guard, he is too much of a scorer. I can see him being like a Gilbert Arenas/ Dwayne Wade type of guy.

stanford hoopsbecause of the allstar games, which make zero sense but they do it every single year if someone has a good or bad couple of allstar games

the I in winParticipantIf Knight keeps on the track he is going naturally I would say take him first but I highly doudt he keeps putting up those numbers against real compitition.

HitsterParticipantBoth Irving and Knight are on powerhouse teams who could win the NCAA Title, Coach K has developed numerous stars over the years and will surely make Irving a better player and Coach Calipari has had a PG production line in recent years. They are by far the best PG prospects in the 2011 draft and we may have a CP and Deron Williams type choice next summer if they are both one and done guys.

Lotto StudParticipantDoes anyone know what kind of offensive set Coach K, is going to run to cater to Irving’s style of play????

JNixonParticipantHe’s going to run the same faster-paced, perimeter shooting style he’s run for the past 4 years or so. I’d be extremely shocked if Irving has any problems producing in the Duke system. It’s an extremely similar system to the guard-friendly style Alvin Gentry and Coach D’Antoni run in New York and Pheonix.

stanford hoopsmy guess is a guard orientated offense since he doesn’t have any post players with enough skills to give the ball to alot

stanford hoopsi dont think knight is gonna put up Canada numbers in the regular season but he will put them up from time to time. since he was a freshman in hs no one has been able to stop him from scoring since he’s tall at his position a good athlete works hard and c an shoot, as well ass being very fast. factor in the dribble drive offense and how young the team is meaning its his team and you have a recipe for very good stats

JNixonParticipantKnight should get like 15 ppg and 5 apg, with like high 40% shooting from the field and right at 40% from deep. He’ll drop off from what John Wall did, but not by all that much.

WrecklessParticipantHow will he drop off from what John Wall did.
I think he will have a better season than Wall, since Wall’s team was way more talented imo..
I expect 17 Points, 6 assists, around 1.5 steals while shooting around 40- 45% from the field. The only reason Knight isn’t being considered for number 1 pick is because…
Well.. I just don’t know. Is it he isn’t athletic as Wall?
Wow, A couple of all star games brought him down alot.0 - Posted on: Wed, 08/18/2010 - 11:06am #379103

stanford hoopsi dont even see a drop off to be honest..hes a step slower then wall but not by much. hes a better shooter and he will have to carry the scoring load more then wall had to because he doesnt have the teammates wall. i give him 15 at worst but more then likely at least 19.
For some reason i just dont think t.jones is gonna do very well.. i cant quite put a finger on it but im thinking its because even though he has sf skills hes not quite there as a sf and prob wont try to bang much as a pf but instead try to do too much sf things to prove to scouts that hes a sf.

Wall’s upside is WAY higher then Knight’s. I believe Knight is also not as brilliant as a a scorer then Knight is. I read somewhere that Knight ( other then these matchup games in AAU, All Star games etc) wasn’t even playing elite talents in high school. Plus, I don’t believe Knight is a point guard, he’s more of a scoring guard (combo) IMO.

stanford hoopsKnight played very good comp for four years. He’s been on the map for awhile playing he best of the best. He has more ways to score then wall because he can drive, shoot midrange, and shoot from deep
