Ahkasi ClayParticipantkobe is a great player, but he is a glorified versions of Scottie Pippen, hall of fame yes, but at Lebron, Jordan Duncan, Russell level, not even close!

GottaBeTheShoesParticipantYou don’t give Kobe enough credit, he’s still a top 15 or so player ever. He’s gotten 5 rings (sure 3 of them w/ Shaq but he was still an amazing 2nd option considering). He’s averaged 25.5 PPG for his entire career, and had a 35.1 PPG season when the team was horrible. 25.6 PPG in the playoffs, and actually averaged 29.4 in the 2000-2001 season. People call him a ballhog, but his passing isn’t bad at all and he actually had his highest assist numbers this past season. He gets a lot of criticism towards his finals against the Celtics where he lost, but in all actuality it wasn’t his fault. If he’s a so-called “glorified Scottie Pippen”, then are you saying Pau Gasol is the Jordan of his last 2 rings? Even with Shaq, Kobe averaged 25+ PPG in the season and playoffs. That doesn’t sound Pippen-esque to me. Kobe is the closest thing to Jordan, of course he’s not Jordan but he sure did a damn good job of studying Jordan and utilizing Jordan’s playstyle into his own. The only knock on Kobe I can give is his shooting percentage which has hovered around 45 and 46% but getting 5 rings is getting 5 rings and that’s all there is to it.

AmiableBaller34ParticipantWhen I think of a glorified Scottie Pippen, I don’t think of Kobe, but think of Lebron.

DapperDonParticipantWe’ve seen Kobe transform into a willing distributor this season but his scoring suffered as a result to my knowledge. LeBrons advantage is being able to distribute and dominate offensively. Kobe on the other hand is really good at getting to the line and is not really a good shooter. I don’t know if its attributable to the triangle but that remains Kobe’s advantage.

brandonmaceyParticipantlebron and kobe are beasts.. anybody who doesn’t agree is simply hating. And kobe a glorified pippen?? what a huge compliment, but how about we let pippen be pippen and kobe be kobe. both great playerers. if you all insist on rediculous comparisons, how about Lebron being a glorified rajon rondo.. both have 11 triple doubles in the playoffs, both will probably have the same amount of rings on Friday.. both distribute the ball amazingly, see how rediculous it gets?

MkadozaParticipantAt this point Lebron is a better post defender, passer, rebounder and three point shooter than Kobe has ever been. One highlight video doesnt discount decades of measured stats.

204ballerParticipantA Better 3 Point Shooter? Are you on crack or something? Lebron is better then no one at shooting. If he could shoot better 3s then Kobe, Spurs wouldnt be giving him so much space. One more thing, Kobe doesnt flop, any top 10 basketball player would never flop, they would man up and play hard physical D. Especially for LeBrons strength, he shouldnt be flying across the court after a bump.

bjcart53ParticipantEveryone flops my friend! They go to the monitors more now so you get to see it four and five times opposed to back then they just kept playing. You do know Kobe shot 32 percent from the arc and lebron shot 40.6 from the arc right… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wUJ61QbyzAg

204ballerParticipantUmm…Kobe shoots more then Lebron so his percentage is going to be obviously lower….and how many 3 pointers Lebron hit in the finals so far? 1 maybe 2? haha and hes been open on the perimeter 99.9 percent of the time and hes only hit 1?
