The Lakers are in an even worse situation than the Nets. Probaby won’t even get a pick in the next draft. No assets.

Their last 2 picks make me cringe. They couldn’t afford to miss, and coming away with a bounty of Randle and Russell is looking disasterous at this point in time.

They’ve got plenty of money…and Kobe simply needs to go.

Hes a nightmare for the young kids to be around, and he’s responsible for the lack of free agents or any other stars.

Fans love Kobe…but the Bryant era needs to end swiftly. Otherwise, the Lakers might be the new Philly.

Kobe should re-sign for the veterans minimum, and join a contender that needs a SG

You’ve picked a bad time to say picking Randle is looking disastrous considering he’s had a very good preseason.

this is obviously a troll thread but il respond.

What good does buying kjobe out serve? The lakers had the salry to offer guys the max this summer and it didnt happen. Buying kobe out doesnt suddenly make lamarcus aldrdige change his mind. Kobe is in the final year of his deal so its not like a buy out would help for next year or this year. All it would do is piss laker fans off who actually want to see kobe play one final season and be treated with respect by the organization.

As for the lakers have no assets…im guessgin you have not been paying attention. Randle and clarkson are the real deal. And its still to early to tell with russell. But we got 2 guys in randle and clarkson we can build around and no bad contracts after this year. We can afford multiple max contracts next summer. I would say things will work out.

well, buying kobe out could definitely serve the lakers in that without him i would think they may have a chance at keeping that pick with some luck… atleast a better chance. dont worry i agree that it shouldnt happen, and have already downvoted op for his opinion. there is more to the nba than that. i wanna see him retire a laker, wouldnt want to see him become a journeyman in the twilight of his career chasing another ring on any contender that wants him… like vince carter. but once they realized they werent getting any big free agents earlier in the summer, and management and kobe decided together that he wanted another shot at a title and that the lakers werent going to be getting a chance in the next few seasons, they could have separated, everyone including me woulda been upset, and then the lakers coulda hoped for a top three draft pick while they develop their young guys and maybe been alot better by 2020 than they may be with keeping kobe til he retires… and we woulda seen kobe in the playoffs a couple more times before his gunslinging days are completely behind him. i dont agree with rip obviously, but if it meant a top three pick in this upcoming draft to add to the young guys they have, it could have been the right move for the organization.

You may be bursting your load to quickly on randle and Clarkson. These are two slightly above average performers(one only in the preseason*yawn*) on a immensely untalented squad. Even smush Parker and Luke Walton’s stats didn’t look all that bad on paper when the Lakers were scraping the bottom of the barrell.

Clarkson reminds me of when Chris Quinn averaged like 17/5 for the Heat when they went into a post-championship spiral and had no other good players.

Lol, there’s that and a lot of other examples for average NBA players who have good stats b/c of the lack of talent they’re playing with…seems to be a lot of denial-ridden laker fans on this board.

Actually, the closer I look, Clarkson’s and Smush’s Parker are exactly alike except Parker was able to sustain his performances for two entire injury free seasons(Clarkson has 59 games under his belt).

Lolol at Julius Randle not being solid for LA, Hes very Similar to Draymond Green in terms of his Strength and versatility.. I think hes going to be a great pro barring no more major injuries.

Randle is also on record saying how much of a great presence Kobe was during his Rookie year..also go back to when Randle first injured his leg, who was the first guy to come to his aid?? Kobe

when this team’s demise Clearly coincided w/ the Buss children taking full control of the team… If you look up how Dr. Buss acquired Magic Johnson & James Worthy & the orchestration of the acquistion simultaneously of Kobe & Shaq you realize Dr. Buss was a shrewd, brilliant business man who understood how to design a long term plan & stick to it, he was a leader of men & these young stars gravitated to his winning philosophy…. You can’t just hand over the keys to his kids & expect them to have any idea how to run that organization b/c they did Not earn it… They never learned the lesson Buss sr did to get where he was… They are rich kids who have never worked playing at running a business… And they have clearly thrown Kobe under the bus (parson the pun) when they should be admiring a guy who brought not only Championships to the Lakers but was synonomous w/ hard work, competetive spirit & Winning…
