highflyer0ParticipantI’m not a Kings fan but I actually really like the young core that they have right now. I think they’re in a very interesting spot right now at the point guard position. Ray McCallum has been very good as of late and judging by the crazy amount of minutes he’s getting as a starter, it seems like the coaching staff really likes him. Isaiah Thomas has been amazing this year, averaging over 20 ppg, but he is a restricted free agent. It’s been a small sample size but I have a gut feeling that the Kings want McCallum as their future starter at point guard. What do you think they’re going to do with Thomas? Will they sign and trade him for a draft pick or veteran? Do you think they would consider letting him walk, or is he a guy they need to lock up long term? I’d love to hear your thoughts because I think it’s a fascinating situation.

Chilbert arenasParticipantI thought there was a typo when you said Thomas was averaging 20ppg, damn!! Never saw that coming when he was at UW. Curious what he’s expecting to make on the open market?

headcaseParticipantIsaiah Thomas was pick 60 in the draft. In the NBA anything can happen, especially huge business oriented projects the NBA has with Sacramento in the future (most likely.) Hopefully everything remains stable for now.

BasketBalAllanParticipantI think they would consider letting Isaiah walk if he signs a high offer sheet. I think that their position in the Draft and already having Ray could give them leeway with resigning Thomas if he garners attention this off season.

TRC1991ParticipantIsaiah deserves at least 8 million a year I would imagine.
3 year / 24 mil (same as what Jeff Teague gets) seems like a fair deal

theballerwayParticipantsoooo much lol. I just wonder what type of stats he would have on a winning team. I guess Taylors right you gotta put him in the Teague price range though. Eitherway hes is due a raise but how many other teams would actually be willing to pay him.( I thought the Knick since they pay anybody but his name wont fly in NY)Plus the size issue is always going to exsist. Just not sure whoelse would pay him to be a starter.
– I look at it if they trying to act like theyre competing for playoffs etc stick with Thomas and try to develop the rest of your team while grooming Ray. If they just want to stay in rebuild mode then run Ray out there with B Mac and hope they gel into the bakcourt of the future but obviously its a waste of Copusins career to be in such a situation for say 2/3 more years

Tap892ParticipantMclemore has been playing much better lately too. He’s scored double digits in 7 of his last 8, and has been shooting better in that stretch too. I don’t know if it’s because of mcCallum or what, but it’s certainly encouraging for the future

Memphis MadnessParticipantI wonder who Kings fans want in the draft. Wiggins would give them flash and star power, but they already have Rudy and B Mac on the wing. Julius Randle looks like a guy who can fit right in at the power forward spot next to Cousins. Or even a Joel Embiid – DeMarcus Cousins twin towers lineup. This website has them taking Dante Exum and that would make some sense too, especially if Isaiah Thomas signs elsewhere.

KayjayParticipantKings would love to have McCallum as their starting point guard because of his defense. I’m sure they would love to keep Thomas as well at the right price he’s a scoring punch off the bench. However if he gets a high offer, Kings will probably let him walk right out the door much like they did Evans.
