Love told SI.com that during last summer’s World Championship in Turkey he had conversations with USA Basketball teammates Russell Westbrook (who played with Love at UCLA) and Derrick Rose about the possibility of someday teaming up in the NBA. Oklahoma City’s Westbrook and Chicago’s Rose are also permitted to sign extensions this summer. "We all talk about playing together," Love said. "It’s fun to talk about. When the time comes, we’ll assess the situation and figure it out." Minnesota will have to assess the situation, too. Quickly. The Timberwolves have one more year until Love can become a restricted free agent, one more year to shore up the roster. If they don’t, it won’t be long before the team Love will be controlling the boards against is them. SI.com

KLove to OKC or CHI? Although this is clearly just talk, it is always fun to think about "what if?" Kevin Love and Russell Westbrook did play together in UCLA, that would be nice to send Jeff Green to the bench finally lol. Just a thought, if Minnesota let Kevin Love go, it wold definitely not be cheap!

Interesting, but difficult with the possibility of a new cba, but that would be a assett for the thunder if they could get Klove

Maybe I am missing something here, but do people not understand the meaning of the word restricted? Obviously Rose and Westbrook are not leaving their team, but you have to understand that Kevin Love is averaging 21-15-2. Why would anyone, even Kahn, let go of a player like that when they do not have anyone to take his place? All the Wolves would have to do is match w/e offer Love gets somewhere else, and they would keep him.

If Tom Thibodeau would bench Carlos Boozer for not playing defense, he might have to start construction on a doghouse just based off the hearsay rumor.

It raises a real and difficult question for Minnesota, Beasley and Love are up for extensions after this year. The level at which they will value big numbers and bigger losses will play a great role in how the team’s next five years plays out. Someone always overpays for empty numbers, so either they’ll overpay him or some other bad team will. The team’s first round pick owed to the Clippers becomes unprotected in 2012. Ricky Rubio has little incentive to come over this year when there is a possible lockout looming and waiting another year allows him to escape the rookie scale. The team has two first round picks though the second one is of Utah and seeing as how they owe their 2nd rounder to Miami is basically a difference of ten slots or less. If they don’t improve next year, the odds of them improving in 2012-13 are slim to nil.
