lalailaParticipantohh i’m so happy because of this early game, it’s still evening in Lithuania so no probelm to me to watch this game..
it will be so interesting to see Terrence(probably going to be my #1) against Barnes(my hands down #1 before the season, who i believe still could prove he is that good) also it will be intereting to see Henson how he will defend against tough Jones..Knight offcourse is interesting in every game too you will never know will he fall in TJ-Barnes shadow or he will drop 30
Your thoughts who is going to shine in this one?

Meditated StatesParticipantIt would be nice to see Barnes bring it against a top team. He could quiet some of the talk with a good showing. If he doesn’t it might increase the pressure on him.

lalailaParticipantlike i said that i start to think Jones might be better prospect i feel Barnes is going for his first 20plus points game..he should remember why he was ranked way higher than UK duo.

Yeah, BJ Mullens was also ranked higher than many other players.
I don’t look at high school rankings when looking at prospects, you never know what kinds of players they are playing with/against.

sammybuckeye13ParticipantIt’ll be interesting to see if Jones and Barnes mark each other…I think that would definitely be an advantage for Jones because he has at least 20 pounds on him. Jones and Henson could be an interesting matchup too.

RUDEBOY_ParticipantUNC really needs this win against a top team…NCAA Tournament Committee will look at who they’ve beaten if they only win 20 games..They might get an invite to the Dance if they can get some wins against quality teams…Even if they have an erractic season…Arizona made it a few times a few years ago when people said they shouldnt had..

delfamParticipantthis might sound picky, but everytime Kentucky scores, North Carolina jumps over the baseline to throw the ball in but they throw it win before there feet hit the ground. This is really bothering me cause it gives them an unfair advantage by being able to get up the court faster, might sound picky, but just a small observation.

delfamParticipantJones needs to develop a right hand, he just shot a layup of the right side of the basket with his left and got it blocked by Zeller, if he used his right he would of made it. He’s also afraid to spin to the left when he’s on the block.

cabbycabParticipantI think TJones will make a better pro than Barnes. He is so smooth, and the game seems to come easy for him. Jumper is good enough to sell that pump fake from the perimeter every time and drive.
It is clear to me that Knight will not be playing PG in the pros. He simply can not dribble penetrate and set up his teammates. He may become a 3 point specialist for somebody. Has a quick release. A classic tweener. Quincy Doobie anyone??

QUINCEY HODGES1I’m guessing you are basing that off of this game because for the season Knight gets in the paint very well. He hasn’t set up teammates that well but that can be taught once he gets to the NBA and has guys working with him to become a point guard. Qunicy douby wasn’t as good as Knight as a freshman. Knight can either develop into point guard or be a combo guard, no one knows at this point because he’s only a 18 year old freshman who’s still developing.
Jone had a nice dunk with the right hand and has used his right hand very well in previous games

QUINCEY HODGES1For a minute i forgot Barnes was even playing in the second half. thats how much of a non factor he has been
And i like Henson but he is not a threat on offense. He doesnt really have post moves, not really what you would call a good midrange shooter. He gets Anderson Varejao points (minus the midrange)

TooNice4TVParticipantDid anyone see Henson’s pair of air balls in that one free throw trip? haha damn, Shaq has better FT’s than that.

B-ball fanParticipantHe has had a great game. He runs the floor well, makes hustle plays, has decent touch, and has good length and athleticism. I think he could be a good rotation player in the NBA.

SubZeroParticipantI’m not making excuses, but the refs IMO were pretty bad…they called so many little touch fouls in the last few minutes on us so they kept sending UNC to the free throw line…although, having Terrence Jones play as horrible as he did sure didn’t help either. Congrats UNC on the win, and at least making the important free throws

B-ball fanParticipantTo put up efficient scoring numbers I think he needs to catch the ball closer to the hoop. He should be able to attack the basket more decisively without using the pick and roll. I wonder if he lacks confidence in his first step, something that Terrence Jones does not have a problem with. Of course, Jones is going up against 4s, but I think he will be able to attack the hoop as an NBA 3. Jones does have an excellent first step and will have a strength advantage over most NBA threes. He doesn’t appear to have great quickness for an NBA 3, though, so he will have to adjust to defending NBA 3s.

Cardinal_FanParticipantBrandon Knight looks worse an worse to me every game, i think if he declared for the NBA he would struggle to get off the bench. His first, second, and third option is to shoot the ball. He doesnt make anybody better.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 12/04/2010 - 1:34pm #452905
Meditated StatesParticipantHe was everywhere. He did a good job of not letting the guards turn the corner on the switches and drove Jones crazy all game.lol Marvin Williams. You might be right. He is not looking all that good, but he is a freshman and he could choose to stay if he does not feel comfortable at seasons end. I also think Roy Williams is not using him right either.Coaching plays a part. I liked Perry over him even b4 the season started though.

Meditated StatesParticipantA scorer Knight who is the size of a PG,but does not really have PG skills IMO. Always thought he was overhyped. He could prove me wrong by seasons end,but I never liked his game at all.

Cardinal_FanParticipantAgreed scout4real. It juss seems 2 me that Knight only feels like scoring is the only way he can impact the game. Where as Kyrie Irving has showed he can do anything u need him 2, He can be the setup guy and create shots for the team or the game he went off scoring his career high since Nolan Smith and Kyle Singler started off slow he picked it up offensively scoring the ball. I think Kemba passes Knight on draft night.

SubZeroParticipantDon’t forget Brandon Knight’s only 17, he has room to grow. He could possibly grow to about 6′ 4", 6′ 5" by the time he gets drafted
0 - Posted on: Sat, 12/04/2010 - 2:00pm #452930
Im Your FatherParticipantI highly doubt that Knight grows any more. Yes he is only 17, but he has a grown man’s body. He is very physically mature, in fact that is one of his selling points.
