dude Wardb, i’ve seen twice now where you said Kemba wouldn’t fit with Tyreke, saying he needs the ball to play well. and then comparing the kmart and reke situation to kemba and reke. Kemba and Martin are in NO WAY similar. Martin is purely a scorer. He’s never averaged over 2.5 ast a season. Kemba has shown his ability to get his guys the ball in positions to score and would average more ast if Orhiaki didn’t shoot line drives at the rim at 100mph. And Kemba DOESN’T need the ball to be successful, have you been watching the Big East or NCAA tourney???? When Napier is in the game, he dominates the ball handling with Kemba coming off screens, only taking control if it’s late in the clock and they need a bucket. Maybe Kemba won’t be an amazing NBA player but in evaluating him, get your facts straight. Reke is not a PG and never will be, they need a PG with leadership and savvy. If Kyrie is there, take him but if not, the Kings gotta take Kemba

Even though I think his draft stock is slightly overrated, Kemba would be a great fit on the Kings.  He does effectively play off the ball, but he also can make plays as a pg, so he would fit well with Tyreke, especially since Kemba is a great shooter.

I’m not comparing Kemba to Kevin Martin at all. I’m just saying that both need the ball to be effective. Sorry for the confusion. I have watched the NCAA tournament and this is what I can see. Why do you think Uconn is a one man team? Without Kemba, Uconn would be no where near the tournament. Uconn succeds because they allow Kemba to have the ball a ton if they gave it to Jeremy Lamb or to Oriaki or Napier I don’t think they would be that good. Kemba is great player and this is no disrespect to Kemba, I just think he is a ball dominant PG and would fit better in Cleveland or Charlotte then in Sacramento. He can pass well and is better passer than Jimmer but he would not work in Sacramento because he needs the ball in order to be effective. I think that if Sacramento does draft him, their team chemistry will suffer and that is very important in the NBA.

If Irving is not availble for Sacramento, I think they should either trade their pick to get Irving, or draft Harrison Barnes, Derrick Williams or Jan Vesely.

Doesn’t all good players need the ball to be effective?..Kyrie Irving needs it to be effective as well. All Point guards need the ball to be effective. Kemba can score off of screens and doesn’t need to create for his self in order to score so he doesn’t need the ball in his hands alot( even though it will be since he will be playing point guard)

Kemba draft stock is not overrated he is the best player in college basketball, he might not have the most potential but he is the best.

I think Kemba can be a full time PG….this is the only year he had to score like this and thats because he had to.

When his team made the final four run his freshman year Kemba played the back up PG spot very well averaging 8.9 3.5 boards and 2.9 apg and 1.8 to’s

When he played PG his sophomore year 14.1 ppg 4.3 rpg 5.1 apg to 2.9 to’s

He’s very capable of playing Pg, just at the college level nobody can stop him why not score 25 a game if that what makes your team successful….hell it worked as obviously he’s taken a mediocore team to the national championship game..where I do believe they are going to win.

Also being a point guard has more to do with all of the qualities of being one….toughness, leadership, heart, defensive minded, ability to create, speed, quickness, awareness, and score when needed…and Kemba has all those qualities and some

So when you say his stock is overrated think about the year he’s having….MVP of Maui,Big East Champion, 5games in 5 Days, and most of all taking an unranked, "mediocore" Big East team and turning them into the National Champions.

Kemba is not overrated and is very deserving to be selected high in this years draft.

Agreed (except for the defensive minded unless nash isnt a pg)

Jimmer Fredette took an even worse supporting cast than Kemba to the Sweet Sixteen, but not everyone says he should be drafted top 10.  I like Kemba and am rooting for him, but in a draft with more depth at the pg position, I think Kemba wouldn’t be a top 10 pick.  I worry about his shot selection and think that he may be inefficient as a scorer at the next level, while being a solid, but not great play maker.  I see Kemba as a shorter version of Brandon Jennings with a little bit lower ceiling.  I think he could be a very good starter in the right situation, but will not be a top 15 pg.

Jimmer played in a weak MWC conference all year and beat A weak opponent in the first round and did good against Gonzaga when he went against Florida he got exposed cut that bullish out, as I stated before Jimmer played no good guards the whole season the MWC is a weak conference overall.

Kemba night in night out played against some of the best guards in the country(Siva,Wayns,Fisher,Stokes,Brooks,Hansbrough,Jardine,Gibbs, Hardy and at least 6-7 other guards I could name)

The only reason ppl question his shot selection is because he was a scorer this year, the only thing people harped about his first 2 years was his decision making, not shot selection, so cut it out, he’s better than Fredette.

Althought Jimmer Did play against Arizona and UCLA as well and was the main reasn his team from a weak MWC beat a Florida team from a very good SEC conference. Also San Deigo St guards are better defensively then alot of Big East guards ( which we saw in the tournament that the Big East was overrated overall)

It’s a misconception that Kemba is a ball dominant player. He has shown he can play WITHOUT the ball and Shabazz Napier running the PG. Kemba has shown he can knockdown open jumpshots off screens without the ball. The guy had 7 assist last night and he played PG 50% of the game sharing the ball carrying duties with Napier. Regardless, he’s going to be an NBA PG, so he will have the ball in his hands anyways, but HE CAN score without the ball.

I like what Sac have not with Thornton and Evans.  They just need to solify their sf position and figure out if Cousins is a 4 or 5 in their offense/defensive schemes.
