2 year contract. He will play out this year, Toronto will have tons of cap space next summer and then he will play that year and see if they made the right moves. All is right in the basketball world.

I’m torn as to where I would prefer to see him go. On one hand I like the Raptors and can’t stand the Lakers and the West doesn’t need any more competition but the other hand I can’t stand Drake haha just sign with the damn Clippers and call it a day

Well a little over confident with that take and double down.  Didn’t age too well.

True, but we generally expect better from OhCanada. We already know Laker fans are losers.

That’s what Jalen Rose is reporting via ESPN but nothing official or anything close to that but we‘ll see. The idea behind this could be that in two years he is a 10 year vet and can sign a monster max deal if he is eligible via All NBA, All defensive team etc.

I hope he stays for whatever duration. This team had a fantastic run last season and the core deserves to have the chance to build on this unlike what Dallas did after Dirks phenomenal run where they broke this up.

It’s never clear what KLs personal goal really are but Toronto seems like a good spot for him and I want to how Siakam can grow next to him. And let’s be honest this dysfunctional Lakers organistion doesn’t really scream competence at all and I could very well see why I wouldn’t deal with this circus.

Break out the good maple syrup OC, this is a celebration. I would say 8-10 teams believe they have a chance to win a title next year.  Can’t wait to see how this season unfolds.

I haven’t always agreed with your opinions, about the Raps and NBA at Large, but I appreciate you. You were always convinced he was going to run it back in the T dot, even through the media BS in the last week, that wouldn’t talk about anything else other than Lakers or Clips (basketball propaganda division) Choke on it ESPN. We the fucking North!!!!!!

Not sure what in the world you mean by that. My opinions are always right. When Im right Im right and when Im wrong I couldve been right so Im still right because I couldve been wrong.

Makes perfect sense to me if this is true. The Raptors have cap space next summer, he can see what moves they make and then hits FA in 2021 as a 10 year veteran so can get the biggest available deal.

Giannis will be a FA in 2021 I believe so no doubt the super team rumours will start again. Although Giannis will no doubt get a Super Max dangled before then.

I’ve always said all along I thought this is what he would do, except it would be a player option for the second year. But there hasn’t been anything official out yet.

On the Kawhi front, told he’s not making a decision tonight and it may not be until the next few days. He and his reps are going through the process and taking their time before deciding the next move. No 2-year deals have been discussed.

It’s crazy how much Kawhi’s decision sways the balance of power in the NBA.

If he goes Lakers, I consider them the favorites for the 2020 title, even filling out the roster with vet minimum guys. Raptors will still be good but just one of a bunch of teams with some kind of shot.

If he goes Raptors, then Toronto is a heavy favorite to repeat — and I’m not sure Lakers even make playoffs.

Even when LeBron made his famous "decisions" in 2010 and 2014, I don’t think his choice determined the NBA landscape the way Kawhi’s does right now.

Agree with that his decision will effect if either the favor is tipped to a WC or EC team, but in regards to number of teams effected by Leonards decision though.

      Lebrons decision effected:

Bulls,Heat,Cavs,Knicks,Clippers,Lakers,Nets and most of the league F.A’s where held up by this move.

      Vs

Leonard is only really effecting Raptors and Lakers..With the a slim possibilty of LAC also. Knicks bowed out early so they don’t really count as they had time to still make some moves at least.

I don’t read anything into taking his last meeting in Toronto. He said weeks ago he’d see Toronto last, so that’s what he’s doing.

For what its worth, I think the Clips roster would be the most complete –

Pat Bev – Lou Will – Kawhi – Gallo – Trez

    SGA – Shamet – Harkless – Kabangele

My guess he’ll announce July 6.

I think he deciding if he want to play for Lakers. Toronoto is fallback plan. But when you read no 2 year deals were talked it has to be bad for Toronto. No way he would sign for more than 1year with option for  1 to play there.

It don’t matter at this point. Y’all won the championship. Like Kawhi said, "enjoy the moment…" It’s part of history now. Can’t blame him for wanting to play at home. Raps are still a playoff team not just championship-level playoff team.
