PTBasketballParticipantWhat’s up everyone? Haven’t checked the forum in awhile so I hope everyone(including the ever annoying EuropeanBaller if he’s still around) is doing good.
Can anyone give me some hindsight about this kansas team? like, is Ben McLemore really good as he is being hyped up around the web and what to look for in this game?
I’d really aprecciate it since today will be the first Kansas game I’ll be watching this season.

HaleParticipantKU is probably one of the 10 best teams in the country right now, and they have a lot of good upperclassmen and then a couple talented young guys like McLemore and Perry Ellis.
McLemore is already the go-to guy for them as a redshirt freshman, and is one of the top 5-10 prospects in this upcoming draft. He’s a ridiculous athlete, who plays the game smart, and can score at all three levels. His only glaring weakness to me is his lack of ball-handling ability, and he needs to gain some weight. He’s already seemingly improved his knowledge of the game quite a bit from his HS days.
If you want a more in-depth analysis, Siggy is the guy to ask for that.

PTBasketballParticipantThank you, from what I’ve seen in this first minutes everything you said is right.
I just wanted to see what the main posters around here think about McLemore since I’d never seen him play. Also, this might be just me but they seem to be a very good defensive team so I will definatelly be keeping an eye on them.
Once again, appreciated for the hindsight on McLemore

HaleParticipantHaha I think you mean insight, and no problem. Siggy and JNixon are really good at scouting so if either of them post in here you can probably take their word over mine.

PTBasketballParticipantSorry, English isn’t my first language so spelling some words can be a pain in the a$$ sometimes.

SiggyParticipantAre you able to watch the game? All your questions should be answered about McLemore. He’s really good with star potential. He’s a very explosive, sleek athlete and straight line driver. He’s got a pretty jumper with great elevation. He’s streaky more than pure, but his technique is really good and his shot selection is pretty solid for a guy with his experience.
Defensively he has a ton of potential because of his athleticism and lateral quickness. He’s pretty good on that end already.People on this site seem to favor Goodwin more as a prospect, which is understandable since he’s the better ball-handler and he’s younger, but I think it’s really close. What could give McLemore the slight edge right now is his ability to be a factor off the ball and in the halfcourt. He’s better than Goodwin is right now at picking his spots.

PTBasketballParticipantI am watching the game mostly because I wanted to see how Jeff Whitey looks without T-Rob by his side but McLemore has definitely been a great surprise, he already had like 2 highlight plays, I didn’t expect him to be this good, I’m definitely jumping on his bandwagon now ahah
Personally I already like him more than Archie Goodwin because of his atittude.
Are they indeed a good defensive team or they just look good because its Oregon state?

PTBasketballParticipantKansas is looking completelly lost on the court since McLemore went to the bench with two fouls…

JoeWolf1I don’t think very many people were able to watch this game, so I think this dunk needs be shared, haha.
