I think one fact that goes neglected is that he went up against Demarcus Cousins everyday in practice. If he can guard demarcus cousins no one in this tournament should intimidate him…I see him having an NBA future. as a 3rd bigman or practice bigman…I mean c’mon hes no worse then jeff foster or even a ronny turiaf or jeffires smh maybe the knicks should look to acquire him..we struck gold once with landry so why not? what u guys think?

I was just thinking about this earlier…I think he could be an NBA player too. But he has a lot of work to do like improving his body composition, footwork, and polish his offensive game.

He will never play a minute in the nba unfortunatley…. but this guy is clearly kentuckys most important player and hard 2 believe with all the HS All Americans on kentucky, he is also there best player. He hustles, he rebounds, he defends and he is there heart and soul. But NBA wise he isnt athletic enough and is pretty stiff, but he’ll make a good living in europe no doubt.

uh you may have gone a little far…their best player? remember this team has 2 probable lottery picks in knight and jones…he may be an important piece but without terrence or brandon, this team would be just average

All of you are wrong. Its not Harrelson or one of the freshman. Liggins is the most important player on Kentucky.

doesn’t matter what they do, another Final 4 banner is sure to be stripped from Coach Cal….and Harrelson is not going to have an NBA impact, one good game and he’s the most important player and HE’S A WORLD BEATER. get the F outta here, you guys should now better, straight d ridin’

Yeah I think Harrelson and Liggins are the most important players on Kentucky as well. Knight, Jones and Lamb are easily the most naturally talented, but Harrelson’s impact is great as a wide body who plays good around the rim, and Liggins’ defense and versatility makes him key. He also makes important shots. Anyone that thinks Terrence Jones is even close the most important player on Kentucky hasn’t watched them play since the non-conference slate.

i think those too are the Xfactors. Of course Knight is the most important. The best player is always the most important because they are the hardest to replace. Those two are the most important non stars/xfactor

Im not saying hes gonna be an all star but put him on a veteran team and i think he can help. C’mon is he any worse then perkins. who many believe is the missing piece to a long thunder play off run. or even a kurt thomas..the league is deprived of bigs he could make a nice living being a fake tough guy and just rebounding

some of you are saying harrelson is more important then knight. last time I check knight hit 2 game winning shots in the most most important games of the year.

I think Kentucky is ousted in the 1st round by Princeton if Josh Harrellson has a bad game. Knight struggled BADLY against Princeton and against Ohio State as well, and Kentucky won those games, largely because Harrellson had a great game in both games. Knight is important, but I think Harrellson has been the most valuable player to Kentucky this tournament.

I can see a little bit of Perkins in Harrellson.  But Harrellson doesn’t have any post moves and his post defense/shot blocking isn’t near the level of Perkins, sure he is solid at the college level and played well against Sullinger, but Sullinger is an undersized center for the college level.  Josh has been showing more confidence when getting the ball in the post and turning and taking little baby hook shots.  For the most part he gets his points off his teammates driving, pick and rolls, and offensive rebounding. He can occassionally beat his man down the court, but in the NBA that won’t happen against the super athletic centers in the NBA. Josh has shown some flashes of a mid-range/outside jumper and I think he needs to continue to work on that shot. If he could mix in some pick and pop and consistently knock down a 15-18 footer, ala Michael Doleac or Big Z, then it would increase his chances of being drafted.

Someone tell me this, what separates Josh Harrellson as a prospect from someone like a Kevin Pittsnogle or a Joran Eglseder, or even a Goran Suton?

Ithink the same can be said for the second game when Knight Hit 30. If he doesn’t play they lose. And then against Ohio St. I wouldnt be surprised either way when they announce the most valueable player of the region

Have you watched Perkins play for more than 10 minutes.  Harrelson’s ceiling is not close to Perkins present ability.  Perk may be a liability on offense at times, but he is an elite defender who rotates phenomenally, blocks shots, defends the pick and roll, and may be the NBA’s best post defender.  Harrelson could be like the Kurt Thomas of today, but not Kendrick Perkins.

I think he can make it in the NBA. I dont think his ceiling is up to Perkins but then again no one knows if it is or isn’t. It wouldnt surpise me if he made it and it wouldnt surprise me if he ended up overseas. Also just found out some of the roster for the all region team. Good job kentucky

    • DeAndre Liggins named to NCAA Tournament All-East Region Team
    • Josh Harrellson named to NCAA Tournament All-East Region Team
    • Brandon Knight named NCAA Tournament East Region Most Outstanding Player.

for some reason David Aldridge thinks Josh is the third best center in the draft and Jordan Williams as the 10th best center lol
