Obviously Joey Dorsey needs some work on his offensive game but he is eating up space, and rebounding at a high level in summer league. With the injuries and FA moves does he have a legitimate chance to see the floor this year or will he always be a 10th, 11th, or 12th man on a roster?

i think he has a legit chance to see the floor. The rockets roster is built on undersized guys that value rebounding and defense and he fits that description perfectly. Reminds me a lot of Ben Wallace. Poor offensive game but high motor, great rebounder and shot blocker, and he will fight for loose balls.

He does remind me of Ben Wallace and he wore number 3 at Memphis in honor of Wallace. And he has dread locks just like him. I want him to get good minutes (more minutes than chuck hayes)

He could be their backup center if they don’t sign anyone else. He played the position in college as an undersized player. Oden destroyed him in the NCAA tournament though but he really learned to hold his own after that. He fouls A LOT though which could be a huge problem since Houston has zero depth at the position and the only really big player I can think of that he played against constantly was Jerome Jordan at Tulsa. I remember Calipari was excited when he got Taggert to commit because he could use him as “Joey Dorsey insurance” haha. He is extremely physical though, has an NBA body, and really I like what he brings to the table.
