The few games I’ve seen of him this year I’ve been very impressed. He has always been intriguing due to his size and length, but he seems to have officially graduated from project to prospect. He has developed some nice low post moves, a decent face up game, and even showcased some range out to the college 3.
The downside with Lual-Acuil is that he will be 24 by the time the draft rolls around, but I think there is still some untapped potential left in him. Despite the fact that he is relatively thin at 220 pounds, his length alone should make him at least a presence at the defensive end, and his mobility is better than most would expect as well. Add that with a developing offensive game, with some potential to become a stretch big, and I think you are looking at someone with a legitimate chance to sneak into the first round.
