Okay, I know Tyrober just posted his Thread about “Pay Day” & JJ Redick earning that Nickname throughout this series..I just read it off of Hoopsworld, but before I read/saw that.. I was actually looking up his stats for this series.
All I was really going to say was the +/- Factor.
JJ Redick has been their best player according to that, even when they were blown out..he had the least negative points. Only Marcin Gortat & Bass have had better, Bass because he played in garbage time..

Game 4 = +14 (The Best), Redick scored 12 on 3-6 shooting, 3-5 from Deep, and 3-3 from the FT Line in 33 Minutes along with 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, but he did have 4 Turnovers.
Game 3 = -4 (Blowout Game, still was the best besides Bass) 3-5 from the field, 1-3 from deep, 2-2 from the line for 9 Points with 2 Boards & 2 Assist, but 3 turnovers.
    Game 2 = +5 (The Best) 34 Minutes, 16 Points, 3-9 from field, 2-3 from deep, 8-8 from line. 5 Boards, 4 Assists, 1 Steal, but 3 TO’s. …Crucial Mistake towards the End?
    Game 1 = +5 (2nd To Gortat) 19 Minutes, 9 Points on 3-7 Shooting, 1-2 from deep, 2-2 from line, 2 boards, 1 steal, 1 turnover.

He also makes smart plays MOST of the time and can get the ball to Dwight down-low when he’s in good position. He always bring the energy & really tries on Defense which may be surprising to some since that was his biggest flaw. He has really put the time & effort to make himself better. in Game 2 he outplayed fellow teammate and shooting guard Vince Carter, but both made crucial mistakes & last night he scored I think like 10 straight for the Magic or something like that? He’s been getting big minutes and producing.

What’s his new contract going to look like? I know it’s just one playoff series, but he did fairly well in the Regular Season as well and the first two series.

Probably get about 5 Mil a year for 3-4 years or so.

He is a restricted FA but I don’t think the Magic are going to match the offer.

JJ Redick is pretty good but I think because I dont see a lot of opening at shooting guard so he would have to be back up and4 or 5 million per is probably legit. I think magic keep him and move Gortat who give them nothing. they can draft a big or sign one to take his place. They could also move Anderson or Bass for more money to keep Redick who is key to what they do. I am a big fan of Redick.

Gortat gives Orlando nothing??? He is easily the best backup center in the league ad could probably be a legit starter as well. He just play very often because they have Dwight Howard. What sense does it make to move bass? They just got him and it’s not like he’s killing their pocketbooks. Redick is definitely important to their team but they’re not going to move 2 players just to keep him especially players that they agressively went out and matched the qualifying offers to make sure they acquired both of them

How exactly does restricted FA worth?

Say someone offers Redick 4 years, 20 Mil.

The Magic then match that offer and retain Redick for the next 4 years, correct?

I’m pretty sure that’s how it goes. They have the option to match the offer by another team and if they do then he stays. Unrestricted free agents can do whatever they want and aren’t restricted by their teams ability to match another teams offer
