Jimmy B requests trade and had three preferred destinations: Knicks, Clippers and the nets. Seems inevitable that it will be the Knicks like him and kyrie have rumored to have agreed on. What is a wildcard team that could jump In the mix? What is Jimmy’s trade value st this point? Why the nets other than max money? Would love BK to get a good team….

As a Knicks fan I hope they just stay the course. I like the direction they’re moving in with KP (hopefully fully healthy next year), Knox, Ntikina, Mitchell Robinson and a probably top 10 pick next year. Jimmy is a great player but he will be 30 soon, and has had his injury issues. They literally made the same mistake with Melo not too long ago, and I hope they don’t do it again. If the T-Wolves don’t ask for anything too valuable (which they won’t) then I’d be thrilled to get him, but I’d like to keep the young players, and draft picks, and take my chances in free agency.

That being said I can see the Nets trading Rondae Hollis-Jefferson and Denver’s 2019 1st round pick for Butler. That would also put them in great position to land Kyrie next offseason too. Should be very interesting to see what happens.

2 days ago Knicks Steve Mills said they won’t trade assets for a player they can sign in the off season. But things could change. Miami isn’t among the 3 teams he listed, but watch out for them.

but upon further review I like a one to one swap lonzo ball for jimmy butler. Why it works for one ball is probably the point that fits best with them young, pass first and could truly maximize kat and Wiggins talents. Again jummmy has no real trade value so that’s actually an over pay. Why it works for the lakers is obvious it gives Lebron a legitimate all star wing to play with Lebron who can defend and create for himself. Also ball and rondo overlap and they are a win now team from here on, so rondo works. Also, makes them incredibly versatile and deep. Thoughts?

Butler’s current trade value is making what the Bulls got for him look like a goldmine.

Wow I didn’t see it coming, but it makes sense. Thibbs is likely hard to deal with and the T-Wolves are really young. They already have a bad contract with Wiggins that would limit the teams options moving forward.

Don’t really know what to think about all these guys who give their teams a list of other teams they want to play for while still being under contract.

So Butler is done with Wiggins and Towns and many on here agree that Wiggins really lacks the killer instinct and the desire to dominate rather then just scoring the ball and don’t do anything else. Personally I have a similar view on Wiggins and also think Towns totally lacks toughness and and desperately needs to grow a pair of balls but this roster is still more talented then any of the Clippers, Nets and the Knicks.

I like Butlers two way game and understand he never asked to be in Minny but if you go a step back think about what he did in his career you have to ask yourself if it’s okay to question his teammates and his meetings with with the Wolves and everything he plans to do is public the next moment. If I’m not mistaken he also didn’t want to be in a rebuilding scenario in Chicago either and wanted a trade. I understand that the media works this way nowadays and everyone involved is playing this game but it’s not what I want see from the star players and I‘m also not so sure if this is any better then what Wiggins and Towns are doing. Everyone only wants to be paid in the end and all the players signing long term deals with their teams and after 2 years telling the media and/or the teams they want out is pretty weak as well.

Or if Jimmy wanted to help his future team out he could wait a year so they could sign him to the full max and keep assets. If it was the Knicks they could keep Knox, Ntilkina, Robinson, with Porzingis and add Jimmy and possibly Kyrie would make them top contenders in the East

    Pg Kyrie

     Sg Butler

    Sf Knox

    Pf Porzingis

    C Robinson

They really had to end that missing the playoffs streak though. That was really ugly.

As a Wolves fan, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again… I don’t care about making it to the playoffs to get bounced the first round or two. Especially when we had the potential to become contenders in the next 3-8 years. Again, I say potential, maybe it would have happend or not. The Jimmy trade even had it worked out would have just made us the Clippers of the last 6 years. A solid regular season team that everyone knows doesn’t quite have the juice to contend.

Well.. looks like the Kawhi saga all over. You just don’t name teams. I don’t know why players don’t get that it drives trade value down. I think there is a strong possibility that someone pulls a Toronto and tries to rent him, possibly even… Toronto! In for a penny, in for a pound I say. Trade Lowry for him. Minny will say yes.

Butler Kawhi Anunoby locking down everybody..

Would any Raps fans out there be happy to roll the dice?

I’m not sure how I’d feel about that.

On one side Butler is a weird dude. So much drama and also seems to get injured often. Not sure if I’d rather have him for 60 games then have Lowry for a few years despite the fact that Lowry seems to be declining he is still the heart and soul of this lockeroom. There could be major chemistry issues and I think the role players on the Raptors team would miss the former leadership and despise Jimmy B.

On the other side Toronto going all is for a championship would be fun. This would allow Van Vleet and Wright to take the next step and with those two Toronto should be able to cover the PG position well. Butler is obviously better then Lowry, he is a top 15 player and would be able to play 3 positions SG, SFand PF. Him and Kawhi would make a crazy defensive duo and I cant think of a better two players for OG to learn from in the NBA other then maybe Kevin Durant and Lebron James.

I’d have mixed emotions just like the Demar trade.

Jimmy Butler needs to do what Paul George did. Go to a team where you arent the undisputed voice of the lockeroom and leader, where there is an unquestionably better player with a dominant presence because like PG for whatever reason people just tend tend to respond well when he attempts to display leadership.

I think he would be a great fit playing next to Lebron.

Jimmy Butler will never be happy no matter where he ends up.  He’s a good defensive player with some good offense but you can’t run an offense through him or expect him to make last second shots.  He’s abismal at the end of games.  I have seen better middle schoolers at the end of games than his 20 seconds of dribbling and an off balance contested shots.

True – RED FLAGS FOR ME

      Report————

Jimmy Butler’s three preferred destinations are the Brooklyn Nets, Los Angeles Clippers and New York Knicks, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.com.

It’s an interesting list, and it’s not a coincidence that all three teams would have a max salary slot for Butler next season. Of course, the Wolves will have the final say on who they choose to deal with, and it may be hard for the Knicks to put a package together.

      ——————-

To me red flags. At his age he should be looking for ring. I can’t see any of those teams competing in the next 2 or 3 yrs.  With those choices, they have max money – that is what he is looking for – MONEY.  Also big market teams eg. ATTENTION SEEKING

A bit of a different opinion here. We have given players so much crap for joining super teams, and finally a player wants to join a non star team, and people say he should go for a ring. Just making an observation as I have seena lot of people saying he should chase a ring.

I‘m a little bit confused. It a team trades for Butler now or later the upcoming season it doesn’t matter if they have  so space or not cause they also get the bird rights and can exceed the cap or am I wrong.

My conclusions is a different one and I‘m almost sure he and a befriended buddy like Kyrie or whoever plan to sign with one of this three listed teams. It would make more sense if the max slot next summer is for some other player additional to Jimmy or do I miss something here?

It would be totally Knicks style btw it they pay Butler major money long term and also someone like Kyrie and both end up being injured all the time.

         Report —-

There is a "real possibility" Jimmy Butler may not report to training camp if a trade has not been consummated, according to Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic.

Earlier, Woj reported that the Wolves are shutting down trade offers on Butler right now, so it would appear Butler is willing to take his trade request to another level. It sounds like this relationship is beyond repair, but the Wolves may not be willing to accommodate Jimmy’s list of the Clippers, Nets and Knicks as possible destinations. If Butler is still on the roster for most of camp, it’ll create a major distraction for the team. Expect several updates this weekend.

        ————————————-

More red flags on Jimmy.  Yes, everyone knows he wants a trade but he still has a professional responsibility. Just be quiet and get on with your job until traded.  Be professional, you are getting millions and millions of dollars.

Butler might join carmelo and Dwight as my most disliked players in the league

The Knicks would love him but if they won’t part with assets they can easily play hard ball, MSG will still be an attractive situation next summer and Porz should be fit by then.

Sean Marks has done a good job wheeling and dealing with Brooklyn so I guess he wants to keep his 2019 first rounder but he has a few other none key pieces so could do a deal.

The Clippers have a number of solid players and had two picks in this year’s draft so could do a deal but Doc and Frank won’t overbid unless they were convinced Jimmy would resign and they have the danger if they take Kimmy to LA and he likes the area – the Lakers might come calling next summer.

Bulls should trade Lavine and Dunn for him. I’m only half joking. If he eventually walks, I’d be fine with that. That’d be better than having Lavine/Dunn overpaid and locked in as your backcourt of the future.

Am I the only one who thinks Jimmy has this inflated sense of his own importance? He has been a diva ever since he became the Most Improved Player. Thibs should consider trading him. I wouldn’t want to lose KAT as of this moment so yeah, Jimmy is the one to go.

We’d never heard anything about Jimmy Butler having a bad attitude at Chicago or being a bit of a diva. He always seemed like a guy who’d been picked at 30th in the draft but had worked hard and had a good defensive so was the sort of guy a lot of fans and coaches would like.

When the Bulls traded him without any talk about him being unhappy and D-Wade had opted in expecting the team lead by Jimmy to be a play off challenging team. But when the Bulls were very happy to move him on for not what we thought was the greatest package it surprised us but I wonder if there were things going on behind the scenes and the Bulls decided to get shut of him for what they considered a decent return. Butler was still two years off FA when he was traded but could have been due a super-max this summer so if he did have friction then maybe the Bulls wouldn’t have wanted to commit that amount of money to him or were worried he’d walk away via FA if they didn’t.
