PeanutParticipantDo you guys think that trading Raja Bell and their #6 pick for Ricky Rubio from the Wolves be a trade option for the jazz? The jazz need a good point guard, Devin Harris is descant but he is inconcistant and Ricky Rubio will be a good back up if not starter, and if the wolves win the lottery then they could get Kyrie Irving and then Ricky Rubio wouldnt really be a loss for him.

SwatLakeCityParticipantI wouldn’t say Ricky Rubio but maybe Kyrie Irving is certainly possible. If Wolves get the first or 2nd pick I think they will trade it. The pick will most likely be Kyrie Irving yet I don’t think Kahn wants Irving because he already has Rubio who he expects to come over in the 2011-2012 season. Kahn is infatuated with Rubio and expects him to save their franchise. So don’t expect Kahn to trade Rubio’s rights.
If the Jazz pick Alec Burks like I expect, then the Wolves could be calling as he could replace what they lost last year when Evan Turner went to Philly instead of slipping to 4. So a trade of Raja Bell, the Jazz’s own 2012 pick (lottery protected) and the draft rights to Alec Burks (6th pick) for the draft rights to Kyrie Irving (1st or 2nd pick) is certainly possible and a trade that I would love. Even though I do like Burks, giving him up for Irving would be the ultimate pick.
The Jazz were rumored to be shopping Raja Bell right around the trade deadline but no deal surfaced so the trade might be postponed until the draft. The Wolves were somewhat close to getting him by offering Johnny Flynn bu the Jazz turned the Wolves down, but don’t expect the Wolves to be quiet. If they want Bell then they will do what it takes to get him just like the Grizzlies wouldn’t back down when they wanted Ronnie Brewer last year.
It is certainly not a smart trade for the Wolves but coming from Kahn a trade like this wouldn’t surprise me. It would also be a very smart and savvy move for Kevin O’Conner.
The last time the Jazz had the 6th pick they did a trade and moved up to the 3rd to select Deron Williams. So a trade like this wouldn’t surprise me. The Jazz might have to give more leverage to the Wolves for Irving like their own 2012 pick but they can get it done. The Jazz also have the Warriors pick in 2012 (top 7 protected) so even though the Jazz might have to give up their own 2012 pick to get Irving, they would not be left without a pick in the 2012 draft.
And peanut, I’ve found an common theme in all your posts so far. They all seem to be talking about the Jazz. You must be a Jazz fan. If you are, Welcome aboard. But I will warn you there are a lot of jazz fans on this site, so consequently there are alot of Jazz threads being made. Some people see this as clogging up all the forums so have a little variety in your posts or else people may start to deliver "hate mail" in your posts. (if you know what I mean)

Kahn has as much of an unrequited bromance with Rubio as he does with Darko, so he’d never give Rubio up. So then, you’d be talking Kyrie Irving/Derrick Williams for the #6, which would be a very, VERY stupid deal. But let’s be real, Kahn’s very, very stupid, so it could happen.

butidonthavemoneyIf Rubio wouldn’t want to play in Minnesota, why would he want to play in Utah? If all the rumors are overblown and he really is planning on becoming a Timberwolf in the future, than why would Kahn trade him?
Besides, he doesn’t fit well with Al Jefferson. Rubio needs players who move without the ball around him and Jefferson needs shooters.
I’d still do this if I was the Jazz, but it’s not going to happen.

ballin3404ParticipantWhy would anyone even want Rubio? He’s HORRIBLE. Playing against worthless talent overseas and thinks he is such a god and can do whatever the hell he wants. Just like it was posted above…if he doesnt want to play in Minnesota why would he want to go to the Jazz, another non playoff team….and for just the #6 pick and Bell…Krylyo Fesenko for Rubio would be better because you would be trading worthless for worthless.

morestealsthanscoresParticipanti can’t see him fitting in with utah, or the jazz. ricky wants to play in a big market with a spanish presence- no- and the jazzx have made a success out of point guards that can score- hence why devin harris has been patchy. it seems like a bad fit for ricky, a bad trade for minny (as someone else said, bell would just be bought out)…so that’s a no on both sides.
