goneParticipantLol the first comment
“Micheal Vick’s mom told SI he could stop playing football and become a full-time model if he wanted…
Then he went to prison, and she instantly regretted calling him so pretty. “0 - Posted on: Thu, 11/04/2010 - 10:07am #427145

Mr. 19134ParticipantTyson Chandler is not a good shot blocker and McGee is atleast easily better in that comparison. And she said 33 inch vert likes that high hahahaha

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantWhat is his mother gonna say? "Nah, My son sucks"
He’s having a tough time right now but I think he’s alright, he should play well once Wall and him get that focus. I said in the past before, he needs a solid low post move

stanford hoopstyson is a smarter shot blocker. he knows when to not try to block shots, get in foul trouble, and hurt your team by being on the bench because of trying to block everything

ghettosermonParticipantWhy are you so stuck on what someone’s mom has to say? Who cares, all mom’s think that of their kids. Also she wasn’t really comparing them to those players, she was just trying to make analogies that she thinks Javale is a skilled player. Saying someone can dunk like Michael Jordan means that are a spectacular dunker, she didn’t say he is anything like Michael. Also the Dirk comment she was just trying to say that Javale is a big guy who can handle and shoot outside. I don’t agree with it, but again, it’s from his Mom. If this were from a real NBA scout that yeah it would be funny like looking back at a Kwame Brown draft profile, but this is just kind of nothing.

Da1potParticipantDude 33 inches is high for a 7’1 center with a 7’7 wingspan….. In terms of jumping height, I doubt anyone can jump higher than he can in the entire NBA.

stanford hoopsi know @ghettosermon.. most moms overrate there kids or there ability. i guess its only news to that guy because thats very common i may not agree with what she said but i can understand it coming from his mom. you hear that from guys moms all the time. dads tend to be more realistic though

mxhart532ParticipantUm… I don’t think anyone in the history of the NBA has been able to reach the heights that Dwight Howard does. I mean the man dunks when you didn’t even know it was posible.

Zeke33Participantwomens bball and mens bball is a complete different sport. I like watching both but theyre much different. McGees mother has no place to compare her son to those types of players in any aspect of his game..accept for Tyson Chandler because that is realistic

OhCanada-ParticipantIve seen way worse comparisons by forum users on this site, and they are just the players fans not mothers. Shes embolishing his skills, but its somewhat true. He does have the abillity to put the ball on the floor, he just doesnt know how to use it hahaha. Not like Dirk thou. He does block shots as well as anyone in the NBA, he just needs to learn positioning, body control and get stronger. He does have amazing leaping abillity especially for a frontcourt player but nothing like Jordan. In all I cant be mad at her for promoting her son.

Zeke33ParticipantWell at the same time ur just basing all of this off of potential like we did with Kwame Brown. I agree, he has crazy potential. Do i think he will ever truly thrive and be a great center? No. I dont think his basketball IQ is there.and to say that he CAN put the ball on the floor and shoot like Dirk..but he doesnt know how to use it is the same thing as NOT doing it which is why his bball IQ is so bad. Thats why i hate the comparison of that. He never did it in college and to mention him in the same breath as Dirk or MJ in anything is insulting to any true basketball fan. But i def see what your trying to say Canada..but not knowing how to do it or do it in a real game is the same thing as NOT doing it in my book

stanford hoopsi agree. doing it on the playground or in practice but not doing it in a real game is the same as not knowing how to do it
