    Hi its Ben

So I was on this website and I saw the link that said Skeen worked out for the Spurs and it got me thinking about him.  What kind of comparison can you guys get for him?

I was thinking a poor man’s Zach Randolph.  Smooth lefty with a good post up game and has a great shooting touch from the perimeter—both at 6-9 too.  Ofcourse he isn’t as talented as Randolph but take a crack at a comparison because I’m interested to hear your opinions.

Good comment on Skeen.  I would LOVE for the Grizzlies to get him at 49.  Not sure he will be there.

He is like Z Bo in that he relies more on hustle and sound fundamentals for his points.  Looked pretty good on the glass in the tournament and really got hot from 3.  So he probably has more range than Z Bo.  But they are both built pretty solid and are pretty clutch.

Both guys aren’t that athletic or the best defenders, but it seems they both have good basketball IQ’s.

That comparison for Skeen is pretty good.  I was thinking that Skeen is like Robert Horry without the athleticism.  Skeen can probably be described best as a stretch four who can hit the 3 with some solid rebounding skills.  So yeah, Horry without the athleticism.  … or a poor man’s Z Bo with better range.

He would be a great player off the bench for the Grizzlies.  What we need is a good 3 point shooter and some front court depth.  He would be a perfect fit.

I think Oklahoma City needs to take a look at him at 23.  Would be a good guy to bring in off the bench along with Harden and Collison.  The Bulls should take a look at him at 28 and 30.  The Bulls seem to have a great 4 big man rotation (Noah, Boozer, Gibson, Asik) with Kurt Thomas also there.  But I think Skeen can play some 3 and would be another good shooter for them off the bench with Korver.  The Bulls are fairly complete.  All they really need is a guard who can shoot and create his own shot (either a starting 2 guard or a 6th man combo guard).  I also think they need a good veteran point guard who can bring championship experience and some 3 point shooting.  …  I think the Bulls need to look at trading the 30th and 44th picks for Derek Fisher.

Skeen would be a great fit on any of the young contenders.  Another good comparison would be Jeff Green with a 3 point shot.  Skeen would be a great 7th or 8th guy on a legit contender.  He’s probably the best sleeper pick in the draft.

Huge fan of Skeen, nice mid range shot with range out to the three, strong and tough inside despite his height(I really don’t see him measuring in at his listed 6-9" height). I’ve compared him to Udonis Haslem. He’s a blue collar type guy who will have a role in this league. If someone like Lazar Hayward can be a first rounder Skeen has an outside shot at late first. He’s definitely being drafted.

sure he is a poor mans Zach Randolph even though he averages 7 rebounds in 31 minutes per game,Justin Harper is better than him,Jon Leuer is better than him,Trey Thompkins is better than him,and on top of that he is turning 24 lol, more like a poor mans Channing Frye, he is a D league player.

I think he plays a lot like Brian Cook, but probably not quite as good IMO.  I think he could find a roster spot though.

With a draft this weak you have to wonder how many 2nd rounders will actually make rosters next season.  Skeen has a shot, but I predict him playing at least half the season in the D-League.
