Not sure how realistic these trades are, but they make sense to me if I was the GM on both sides.

Jah can’t defend or rebound well but he is a gifted post-man and a lot of teams in the NBA stink.  Jah if anything helps you in your tanking effort, and he has enough potential for a team to take a shot at him.  He needs minutes he’s not getting them in Philly.  He has a pretty bad +/-, but he commanded a double team in his first five minutes in the league.  The kid can play, he shouldn’t be in the situation he is in.  Set Jah free, give him another chance.

Again, if I was GM on both sides, maybe I think these are fair:

Jah to Atlanta for Bellinelli.  Bellinelli is on a 1 year contract for 6 mil.  Maybe he enjoys Atlanta, gets to play for his next contract.  But if you have the chance to win, and basically be JJ Reddick’s doppleganger, then welcome aboard.  Philly needs shooters.  He has the Brett Brown San Antonio connect.  Atlanta has no big men and John Collins is two years away from an NBA body.  You lose nothing.  Take the shot on Jah!  I just want another marksman on Philly, its like you lose nothing when Reddick goes on the bench.

Jah to NY for Courtney Lee.  Lee has two years making 11 mil.  Lee is that all-purpose guard and an upgrade over Bayless, and a backup to Reddick.  You can still play TJ and Fultz alongside both.  The Knicks play uptempo so may not be a fit.  But aside from Porzingis maybe they don’t have many offensive options.  Its worth the risk.  Lee is a nice fit on NY, so this one may be a stretch.

Jah to Denver for Faried.  Faried is just a hyper athlete but I feel like he is that change of pace hustle energy guy the Sixers could use.  Basically, the TJ McConnell of bigmen, you could even play him alongside Richuan Holmes and run him with Simmons out there for a ridiculously fast offense.  Denver has too many tweeners as it is.  Faried’s PER is high right now.  But Jah is a nice backup to Jokic, and Jokic could find him in the high low game.  I also like Will Barton as an athletic guard, I would definitely call Denver often.

Jah to Clippers for Lou Williams.  More of a reach but Sweet Lou is on a 1 year contract.  Don’t think Jerry West would do it but playing Jah with Blake would be interesting.  He can back up DeAndre.

Jah to the Lakers for Randle.  Randle is another hustle guy.  Randle is a misfit on the Lakers, why not take a shot.  I don’t mind evne though I don’t liek his game much at all.  Every team needs an effort guy and Randle needs a change of place.

Jah to PHX for TJ Warren.  Again, this is about freeing up guys.  Obviously with Monroe and Chandler and Len this makes zero sense.  But Warren needs a new home.  Jah is better than all 3 of the bigs listed.

Jah to Sac for Malachi Richardson.  This probably makes the most sense.  Malachi neesd a new home with guard heavy Sac.  Jah is again, worth a risk.

Jah is worth a risk wtihout giving up too much.

I mean Monroe is a salary dump.  If I was Philly I might give up a late first for Bledsoe.  Jah and a late first for Bledsoe, because Bledsoe is a major upgrade over Bayless.  I mean PHX ate a contract in Monroe, maybe PHX is going to play more of a halfcourt game now.  They have some nice pieces fit for a halfcourt offense.  I think PHX needs a traditional PG.  I woudln’t give up TJ McConnel but he would be really nice for them.  PHX has Booker at the 2, Josh Jackson at 3, now Monroe at 5, with Chriss and Bender.  If I was PHX I wouldve gone after Rondo.

Anyways back to jah, I’d do Richardson and Bellinelli.  Faried, Lee, Warren, Randle, and Williams are probably reaches but I’d definitely call.

I don’t think the Lakers should give up that much for Okafor especially with Nance, Jr. out of commission for an extended period of time.  Philly should settle for Josh Hart, Zubac, and a 2nd round pick.

If I am Philly I call Golden State and tell ’em how much they could use Okafor’s scoring off the bench.  Tell ’em that he is a pretty good passer and can grab some rebounds.  I would then wonder why McGee hasn’t done much this year… if Philly got McGee in the trade straight up for Okafor they should be happy.

If I am Philly, I am even thinking about shopping Fultz, too.  I would actually trade Okafor AND Fultz for Jordan Bell, Patrick McCaw, Damian Jones, Golden State’s 2018 first round pick, and a protected future first round pick.

If I am Philly, I am building around the superstar dynamo of Simmons and Embiid.  Saric is a keeper as is Robert Covington.  Then I am gonna go out and get another core guy in the draft. I am then looking at adding solid role players around my main young core with Bell and McCaw being as good as any…

The Warriors might think that they have enough veteran guys to do the dirty work off the bench.  Guys like Iggy, West, and Livingston.  Then you have a scorer like Nick Young.  Javale McGee is solid enough as a shot blocker/alley oop artist for the Warriors to withstand the loss of Jordan Bell.  Kevon Looney is yet another long big man.  Then, when healthy Okafor and Fultz bring an additional scoring punch off the bench, with each being decently athletic.  Then, not only would the Warriors have the best scoring/shooting duo in the league, but also the best all-around Big Four, but they would ALSO have one of the best high-octane benches in the league.

If I am Philly I want a starting five of Simmons, Reddick, Covington, Bell, and Embiid with McConnell, McCaw, Saric, and Richaun Holmes off the bench.

Golden State counters with a top-flight bench mob of Shaun Livingston, Markelle Fultz, Nick Young/Omri Casspi, David West/Kevon Looney, and Jahlil Okafor/Javale McGee.

I still believe that Memphis makes the most since for him to backup Marc Gasol. Chicago is another landing spot that seems to get overlooked, especially when it’s a known fact that either Portis or Mirotic has to go.

I think the Bucks might take Jah too now. They have a salary exception for 5 mil that expires in February and Jah could play Monroe’s role.

Actually they could trade Delly for Jah… Dellys role is going to be taken by Bledsoe so Philly may be a good fit with the Aussie connection, Brown and Simmons

        Horrible trade for the Sixers.

The only thing Dellavedova has over McConnell is name recognition. If you don’t believe me go look at their stats. Plus McConnell only makes one 6th what Dellavedova makes on that terrible contract.

        Rather just let Jah walk.

Oh my GOD you’re right, how could I overlook that!

And you know what John Stockton, Steve Nash, Allen Iverson, and Chris Paul don’t have rings so Dellavedova must be better pg than all them. haha

Dellavedova got way over paid and no one is going to take that horrible contract off the Bucks hands. He averages 5.3pts and 3.3ast while making nearly 10m/yr.

McConnell averages 7pts and 5 ast in basically the same minutes as Dellavedova while only making 1.5m/yr.

You’re right, McConnell has turned himself into an NBA player. He wasn’t, but he does a good job in that role now and he’s cheap. Dellys value isn’t on the stat sheet. He’s a pest. He can defend. He is a good locker room guy and yes, it means something to be a winner. He’s a better fit with Philly and Philly need to move Jah. If they want an asset back, this is the level of player they should expect because they’ve driven his value down.

Boston have injury exception for Hayward. Portland have trade exception but may not want to take luxury tax hit.

Boston’s been after him after his debut against them when he beasted Sullinger.

Thats why Isiah Thomas went out of his way to tweet how good he was.  First impression is a lasting impression.

Jah looked terrible today but I felt very bad for him.  He doesn’t get to play regularly.  As important as it is for Brett Brown to get players playing time and keep his rotation tight, with the team’s best interest in mind, he should also have Jah’s best interest in mind, understanding that playing him rarely never lets him get accustomed to the speed of the game.  If he is going to play he should play regular minutes, I believe that is Brown’s philosophy as coach of this team.

So why be hypocritical towards a #3 pick in a contract year.  Let him go we have no use for him,  Playing every day Joel can’t play without legs and used to the speed of the game only makes him worse and doesn’t help him in any way get another contract.

I’d let Jah go if nothing above pans out.  I’d like to get at least another shooter for him like a Malachi Richardson or Bellinelli.

But I would NOT want him to go to Boston just because I know Ainge has been refusing to give anything up for him and quite frankly being an ahole about it.  Ainge is just as guilty in not doing Jah right.  I know the team has its own interests but the man’s career is at stake here.

Let the #3 pick in a draft get some regular minutes and let’s see if he’s a 17 and 8 guy like he could be.

I think the players felt for him, Simmons was making a concerted effort to get Jah the ball in the post. He’s just not used to teh speed of teh game right now so he can’t contribute.

Before I’d say he stinks, today I just felt bad for him.  Colangelo needs to do the organization right but also the kid.  Its not about "fair value", its about doing whats best for you and Jah.  One shooter for a bonafide post-man and his career, let’s make it happen.

The Sixers are going to hold Okafor to the trade deadline in the hopes that one of the contenders will give them a 2nd to rent him for a playoff run. If no one bits they’ll buy him out.

What they won’t do is take a horrible contract back for him. The Sixiers need to maintain cap flexibility to resign Reddick and make a run at a top FA, PG13?, in the offseason.

Sixers didn’t pick up the option to effectively give themselves extra cap space. Johnson and Reddick are only one year deals so they will have a ton of cap space next summer even after Embeast’s new deal kicks in. I think they may look to make a real run at one top FA or will take good vets on shorter deals as they will have to factor in renewals for Simmons, Saric and co in due course.

With GSW having committed big money to Iggy and KD due a mega extension, I always wonder if GSW may look to ship Iggy in due course and add cheaper veterans looking for a ring. Iggy going home to 76ers still seems a nice idea toi me, he has his titles and could be a great veteran presence for the team playing 30 mpg around the young core and giving leadership and intangibles.

I agree with EndlessKnight that Philly keeps hold of Iggy until nearer deadline day in case a contender has a need, a late first rounder may be dangled.
